  1. I think that is encouraging! Hopefully she will continue to improve
  2. Hoping it turns out to be nothing serious!
  3. hope everything goes well! Looking forward to homecomming pictures
  4. My old girl Sugar had spinal issues, and acupuncture was a huge help for her. It did take some time (and steriods helped in the meantime) but she went from not being able to stand, much less walk, to about 80% normal motion in a few weeks.
  5. What a roller coaster! I am glad to hear he seems to be doing better. I have come to believe (not a vet, nor do I play one on TV ) that many of these digestive episodes (HGE, IBD) we see apparently out of the blue are related to nasty little worms that don't show up in a fecal
  6. ouch, that looks painful! but it looks like they did a fantastic job
  7. hoping it's just a break! Sounds like Augie has a great vet
  8. The salmon thing is a parasite, fluke (?), in the Pacific wild caught salmon. It can do nasty things to people and dogs, but freezing apparently kills it. Unless you get a smoking deal on wild caught salmon (which I guess is possible, as I see you are in Oregon), I would stick to farmed or canned salmon. I get most of my stuff from a food co-op, but I do supplement from the grocery store, always checking for sales
  9. I hear you! Last night was the Diamondbacks home opener, and they have fireworks after every Friday home game. All season. sigh
  10. I don't know why the adoption group wouldn't want to work with you as long as you were up front with them about why you had to back out. I had to do the same thing, for similar reasons (sick cat), and when I was ready, I just let them know that things had settled down and I was ready. Of course, the dog they had initially suggested for me had been adopted by someone else, but as it happened, another dog that I had fallen for before I was ready to adopt in the beginning (If that makes sense?) had been bounced and was available. So, it all worked out and I got my heart dog If for some reason the original group won't work with you, there should be others around (don't know where you live)?
  11. Hoping Merlin is on the mend and able to come home
  12. you can give him an imodium, but it sounds like his system is trying to get rid of something it doesn't like, and that would just slow down the process. Make sure he doesn't get dehydrated!
  13. I'm not sure what blood tests would determine IBD, but I agree with her about not wanting to scope him. She probably said to stay on TOTW if he is doing well with that. IBD really isn't about fat % or anything else like that. It's all about what foods your dog can tolerate, and which ones cause problems, and each dog is different. I am glad you have a diagnosis to work with!
  14. She is probably still getting over the anesthetic (I know that's spelled wrong!), that will make her not feel like eating as well. Poor baby
