  1. and she does have pretty feet I am so sorry
  2. If you have only had him since Sunday, I'd say everything is still very much in flux. Everyone is still getting used to the new situation, so things will probably change over the next few weeks! Just keep re-inforcing the behavior you want, I'll bet it all works out
  3. You say he only reacts to the cats when he is in his crate. My guess is one of two things. He doesn't want them near his crate when he is in it, or he is a little jealous that they get to run around "free" while he is crated. I really don't have a solution for you, as my dogs aren't crated, and the cats spend most of their time in the cat rooms.
  4. I have heard good things about A/D food, I hope it agrees with Merlin! I have not used slippery elm on Fletcher, my iBD dog, but I do take the capsules myself when I have to take a lot of pain and/or allergy medicine, and it definitely helps ease my stomach. It is an herb, and I never had any trouble finding it, I think even some grocery stores carry it.
  5. I've never tried it, but it looks interesting. I would give a higher dose than they recommend (according to the label)
  6. I was so hoping the ultrasound would show something that could at least be treated with drugs, for awhile. I am so sorry I understand how you feel about the CPR, but you couldn't know what was in the future, and you did what seemed best for your boy at the time. That is all we can ever do.
  7. Some of you may remember a greyhound who was in a shelter in Phoenix last winter. He was pulled in January and put in a wonderful foster home. We think he probably was BC Oswald Bernie, based on what we could read from his ears. I met Bernie at several M&Gs, and he was a wonderful sweet dog (minus most of his teeth ) He was happy, and I don't think he knew he was a "foster". Sadly, Bernie was diagnosed with cancer and we lost him this last week. Go chase bunnies Bernie, you were loved. (I don't know how he ended up in the shelter, and it doesn't matter now)
  8. what a beautiful girl! I am so sorry
  9. Fletcher is also 9 1/2, and has had arthritis for about three years. It has gotten worse in the last year, so I know pretty much what you are dealing with. I would definitely get him some joint supplements, Springtime Joint Health and Fresh Factors are good. Can't help you with the ramp, I have one that he refuses to use, but so far, my Element is low enough for him to still jump in. I would try the lifting others have suggested first.
  10. so frustrating when you don't have clear answers! no advice, just
  11. I am glad he made it through the first 24 hrs. Hopefully now the meds will have a chance to work. :candle
  12. I am just now seeing this, how terrifying for you! You handled it so well, giving him a chance to overcome this! :candle
  13. I am so sorry, she was beautiful
  14. While they are all birds, chicken, duck, and turkey, are different when it comes to allergies/sensitivities. Doesn't mean they can't be allergic to chicken and turkey, of course
