  1. Is this a different place than Butcher Bob's in Surprise? I get my raw from Suzy's (who is Butcher Bob's wife). I have to admit, mine like the stinky canned stuff better than the raw, even though the raw is better for them.
  2. I get the 2# frozen also. I usually thaw it enough to cut in half, then put each half in a ziplock bag and refreeze half. That lasts me 2-3 days. I don't think the frozen smells that bad, I think the canned is Much stinkier (but it is easier)
  3. One thing that jumped out at me reading your post here and the other one about the fake arm...this so called expert trainer (fake arm poking a dog while eating, really?) was recommended by your adoption group. The group that didn't tell you ahead of time that they thought Ami had "issues". That didn't admit they knew she had issues until you went back to them for help. Hmmm. OK, I am an outsider here, I don't know you, your group, or the trainer, but I would be having some second thoughts about who I trusted at this point. Maybe everyone is innocent and there is just poor communication, but if it were me, I would be looking for a second opinion, i.e., another trainer.
  4. QGRW I am so adding this to my vocabulary, it describes them perfectly! I have been going through QGRW with Molly for 2+ months. She's had a vet check, mostly she eventually eats, I am even pretty sure I know the cause, but there are some days
  5. Sounds very much like what my first grey Sugar had. She looked like she was trying to limp on both back legs at the same time. Prednisone helped her short term (at one point she could barely stand, never mind walk), but the thing that saved her long term was acupuncture. She got back about 90% of her mobility, and I think it might have been 100% if she hadn't been 12 yrs old with a heart condition. for Miss Scarlett edited to add, hers was spinal
  6. I wish I had some magic words for you. I am dealing with some eating issues with Molly, but I am pretty sure hers are related to loosing Fletcher earlier this summer. It makes me
  7. I had Fletcher on Metacam , but we switched to Rimadyl when that became less effective. It did help, although I combined it with Tramadol, as the max dose wasn't enough for him. The cheapest I found it was at Costco.
  8. I am glad to hear the little dog will be OK. I know things are different in the UK, more (legal) off lead dogs, different dog laws, and so on. Do whatever you think is best for your dogs, and I hope nothing like this ever happens to you again!
  9. I am so sorry, it is always too soon.
  10. I am so sorry this happened to you, but it was in NO WAY you fault ( or your dog's)! I completely understand how you feel, last year a small dog somehow got into my backyard and one of my dogs went after it. He grabbed by the neck, but luckily didn't get a firm grip and eventually (seemed like hours, was probably a few minutes) I got him to drop it. I wrestled him into the house and went back out to find the dog, expecting it to be seriously injured, but it had managed to get out of the yard and disappear. Like you, I tried to find it, but never did. You did everything you could, it was not your fault! Please don't muzzle your dogs when you walk them. If they are attacked by a loose dog, they will not be able to defend themselves, and honestly, your dog could still have grabbed the little dog even with a muzzle on. I sincerely hope the little dog was not badly injured.
  11. Heart murmurs are very common in GHs and she may not need any medication at this time. The cardiologist can advise you on that. Are you planning to fly her? I understand your caution, I had a Boston Terrier that died at 6 from an unknown enlarged heart (no flying involved), but I also had a greyhound with heart problems, first diagnosed at 8 yrs, who lived to be 12 1/2, so it can be managed. I hope it turns out to be a minor issue!
  12. I am so sorry for your loss, but what a lovely story Ice was obviously a special dog
  13. I am so sorry. Two years doesn't seem like enough time, but you know they were the best two years of his life.
  14. I am so sorry Pam I wish you and your sweet Buddy could have had more time together
  15. I've had a total of four greys. None of them has ever rooed, even when I play one of the videos
  16. I am so very sorry. Your tribute had me in tears again, for you and Sam, and me missing my boy again, who reminded me of Sam in many ways.
  17. So unfair, but he is so lucky to have had you for this last 1.5 yrs. I wish you had been able to have more time together.
  18. I am so sorry it is never easy, but when you loose your first grey, it is like the end of something
  19. Glad he didn't see any osteo! Toes are difficult, kind of like foot problems for people, but hopefully it will heel with needing an amp.
