  1. Maddiesmom, I do not think there is any surgery for corns. I have watched him get worse and worse and hurt more and more. He can hardly walk. I will not keep a dog here on this earth for a selfish reason. Pain was not in the game plan when I adopted him.
  2. I agree with George. My male could kill a small fluffy in 1 shake. I carry Halt (mace) and have used it 2 times.
  3. My two hounds have corns. One has 3 corns and other has 1. My vet is hulling every 10 days now and my male is not getting any relief between hulls. He will not walk without his Thera Paws on and then it is a struggle. Does anyone have any suggestions besides having him put down? Thanks so much.
  4. Mine is on the shelf and is liquid.
  5. I bought a bottle last week at GNC. I am using it on their pads (corns).
  6. Both of my hounds love having their ears cleaned. I rinse them out about everyday and take a soft cloth to them about 2 times a week…But, my little female actually likes her electric tooth brush..lol
  7. I had an IBD Greyound and now I have one that has allergies. I feed her Wellness Limited Lamb and Oatmeal and it seems to be working. She is definitely allergic to Beef, Chicken and Turkey. Also, if you find a food that works, Chewy.com is the best place to buy it. Their service is great and their prices are too. I have been using them for months with no problem.
  8. I received a great little wallet card from Ducky yesterday and on it is this information Creatinine for Greyhounds: .8 to 1.6 other dogs .0 to 1.0 Total Protein: Greyhounds: 4.5 to 6.2 other dogs: 5.4 to 7.8 Don't know if this will help or not.
  9. Please direct me to the corn forum. It is getting worse and worse around here. Thanks, Nan
  10. I use a form of Xanax and I think it was $4.00 at Walmart (30) pills.
  11. Why does she have to get in/out of a car so often? Maybe you could leave her at home and just let her rest? I agree about the x-ray. I had mine to the vet the same day he started limping and to Charleston about 4 days later. They told me he had osteo. We could not manage the pain, so asked the vet to come to the house. I believe it is a terrible pain for them.
  12. I finally got a ramp. It took them a little while to learn to use it, but finally it happened. The problem is having to carry the ramp with you. It pretty much takes up the whole front seat. Both of my dogs have disk problems.
  13. I have been using the flea collar by Bayer for over a year and it works great! It is good for 8 months and is water resistant. But, this is for fleas. We do not have a problem with ticks right now.
  14. I left my 2 males unmuzzled and alone for an hour or so one time. Came home to blood all down the walls and door. It looked like the chain saw killing. Never left them unmuzzled again.
  15. I am using Chewy.com and have no problems with their shipping. The only problem I have is their kibble seems to have been handled roughly because some of it is in powder form when I get it. After thought: I only feed a little kibble as most of the food my hounds eat is raw.
  16. Huck had IBD and I had a biopsy to confirm. If I had to do it over, I would never have consented to the surgery, but would have just gone ahead and treated the IBD. There is no curing it, but it can be managed (or this is what I was told). We never really got it under control.
  17. I know this will not help the dribbling while she walks, but could you put some of those hospital pads on her bed? I believe they are waterproof and disposable.
  18. I lost Huck to OS. He was only 6 years old. I did not want him to go through the horrible pain from a break in his leg, so I asked the vet to come to my house. I firmly believe it is better to be a day early than a day late and that this is the last gift you can give them. I am so sorry you are going through this.
  19. I would not crate him. I would just use the baby gate. Anyway, that is the way it is at my house. No problems at all.
  20. Both of mine are on 400 mg each a day. They do not have kidney problems, but they do really well on the dosage.
  21. I feed mine turkey necks and they love them, but I thaw them out. Da Vid already had 2 broken canines teeth.
  22. Check each pad very carefully for corns. Corns are missed by vets very often.
  23. Keep the dogs apart using a baby gate. Also, you have two many things going on for a brand new dog. Let him settle and I think you need to settle too.
