  1. Here ya go. http://www.adopt-a-greyhound.org/advice/general_advice/trust_a_deadly_disease.shtml
  2. I thought it was pinned in the AA forum but can't find the link to the article "Trust Is a Dangerous Thing" or whatever it's called. If someone else can find it, please post it here. Thank you.
  3. She is just beautiful. A blooming Spring Flower to heal your hearts
  4. Agree with Batmom and PiagetsMom. Preparation can be done for every situation. Except for the one situation where the dog doesn't recall. If you've participated in even one greyhound Amber Alert, you know that heart-in-your-throat feeling that doesn't leave until the dog is captured (if it is). For me, off-lead is just not worth the risk.
  5. Ditto. My great dane (before greyhounds) had LS and would "spill" on his bed in the middle of the night. It got to the point where I would wake up just before it happened and could catch the poop. Tom was so embarrassed if he made a mess Old dogs are the best dogs
  6. Oh how you loved her so. And she you. I am so sorry for your loss. Godspeed beautiful monkey girl
  7. That sounds like the infected anal gland that Pal had. It took three courses of Baytril to completely clear it up.
  8. What a beautiful tribute to your beautiful girl. It made me smile to read that even tho you still cry, that you are able to remember the good times and *smile*. Dusty would want that for you.
  9. What DesiRayMom said. I'm sooo happy to hear that Enzo is doing so much better. Thank you for the update.
  10. Very, very nicely done, Jan. Those Treasure toofers
  11. She knew, at last, that she was loved. Deb, I'm so very sorry. Godspeed Daisy Magoo

    Spudzilla

I am so very, very sorry for your loss of Spud. What a wonderful friend he has been. How is Sadie doing?
  13. Phew is right! Wonderful!! Phew? Whew? Whatever. Really Good News!!
  14. Three of my hounds, Seamus, Paddy, and Aiden, are from StLRR - a wonderful group to work with. Six more sleeps until your boy arrives! He is a Cobblepot kid You may want to wait to name your boy until you meet him. I had Paddy named (Cinco) before he arrived and it soo didn't fit him Congratulations!
  15. {Irene} Zeke-aroni lost his canines during a dental, too, and it was a mess but he was soo much happier the day after his surgery. One sleep and Paul should be feeling much improved.
  16. I'm so sorry for the Hannah-sized hole in your hearts. What a special girl. Godspeed Hannah.

    Jet

Fourteen is huge and yet, we want more. We want them to stay forever. I am so very sorry. I hope the memories of the love you all shared will help your hearts heal. Godspeed beautiful Jet.
  18. You were blessed to have shared each others' lives. I am so sorry for your loss. Godspeed beautiful girl, send your momma sign that you made it ok and are watching over her.
  19. This worked wonders tonight. I was taking Brady out for his last potty walk in the back yard and our neighbor's dog was out and barking. Yesterday, he wouldn't have budged, but I just kept my eyes on where he needed to go and walked.....and he followed. Didn't pay much attention to the yappy dog and did his business. PROGRESS! Fantastic!!
  20. Beautiful girl. Happy Birthday, sweetie.
  21. All of the above, and, "where you look is where you go." If you are looking at Brady and tugging on the leash while looking at him, he is not going to move. Lift your eyes and look in the direction you want him to move; everything about your body language will change and it will encourage Brady to follow you. You can do it. Good luck with your new boy and enjoy him.
