  1. Ducky, I can't send a hug big enough for how sorry I am to see this about Harold. My heart goes out to you and your family. Godspeed Harold, you were a greyt dog.
  2. My senior, Zeke-aroni, did this for a very long time as well, in all seasons. It wasn't LP for him, either - I have an LP hound, the sounds are not the same. It sounded as tho there was something stuck, way back in Zeke's throat, but we could never, ever find any reason for the yakking. I will be interested in hearing what others have to say.
  3. A beautiful tribute to your sweet friend. What wonderful lives you shared together. Godspeed Jessie
  4. This was one of Pal's signature trademarks and he always did it with a smile. Your girl is happy, and adorable
  5. Agree with all the above. Suggestion: If there is a horse stable nearby with an indoor riding arena, you may be able to let Izzy loose in there. Although they are built in many sizes, typically there are 60'x120' and I would feel much more comfortable trying to corral a hound in that small of an area. You need to double-check all door openings and perhaps have someone stand guard at them but if you go at a quiet time you should be fine. In this situation you also wouldn't have to worry about other dogs, as you would if she went to the dog park. Bree (Zombrie) posted pics of her girl Minerva working the cavaletti's in an indoor arena - it is tremendous fun! I hope you can find something similar near you. Good luck with Izzy, we are going to enjoy watching her grow up!
  6. How cute is that little girl!! Her raccoon mask is adorable. Congratulations and welcome!
  7. Irene You are so good to take in those old kids, to make sure that they could stay together as long as possible. I am so very sorry for your double loss. I lost two on the same day 30 minutes apart. Be very good to yourself and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed Bubba and Suds, much loved kids.
  8. x infinite. I do know how you are feeling. So very sorry.
  9. Can cooked white rice be frozen in individual portions, thawed, and still be somewhat appealing to a sick hound? I want to have some ready for those occasions when you need to serve it riteawayqwik. How about boiled chicken? Will that keep? TIA
  10. We have had success with adding meat-variety jarred baby food on top of kibble to get the picky seniors eating. And canned puppy food has also been tremendously popular and successful here. The puppy food can help add / maintain weight on a grey who might not otherwise be getting enough calories. It helped my Zeke-aroni get over a rough patch and get interested again in his kibble. Sam is one handsome fellow
  11. Chevy honey, it's always better to be home in your own bed. I'm so glad that you are there now. Keep getting better, sweetie.
  12. Chevy and Adrianne I carry a dressage whip similar to this http://www.doversaddlery.com/wonder-whip-mushroom-cap-whip/p/X1-1406/?ids=qpyo1xjahxwq0o45b0bgag55 I've had to use it, and was relieved that I had it with me. Continued prayers for Chevy and his peeps.
  13. for Chevy, Adrianne, Seth, Jamie, and little Ollie.
  14. It's nice to be back, thank you A jelly roll pan is something like 15-1/2 x 10-3/4 x 1/2 or so - the dough could be fairly thin. This is next week's project, thanks! And, btw, where are the pics of those googly eyed hounds enjoying these treats??
  15. These sound really good (YKWIM ) I'm going to try these for the campers. Think it would work if I just pressed the dough into a jelly roll pan and adjusted the cooking time?
  16. {{{Jey & Grammy }}} I am so very sorry. What a grand boy.
  17. Does Not Get Any More Precious Than This. So glad to see this update.
