  1. Gotcha. I'm not familiar with the shot so didn't know how it factored in.
  2. Did Doolin have the alternating dose of Advantage Multi after the dose of Drontal? Neither med on their own seems to work well, but in combination with each other (we alternated them on the 1st and 15th of each month,) we eventually got rid of the hooks but it took over 6 months of alternating the meds. We were most likely dealing with hooks that had been in them for a long, long time while they lived on the farm after racing.
  3. Yay Punkin! Sooooo glad you are feelin' better. Annie is waiting for the mint jelly.
  4. Well, Only the title really appiles, but Doolin's just singing House of The Rising Sun.
  5. We've had a lot of seniors and I feel like they all get to a point where jumping into the car is no longer an option. We've typicall had to eventually lift everyone execpt Petunia. Petunia was tough and still thought she was 5 years old when she was a senior. Be sure to take a loof at what it will take for you to lift the dog into the car, not just whether or not they can jump in. With our bigger, longer hounds it was awkward regardless of the vehicle. With some of the smaller hounds it was not nearly as difficult.
  6. Getting every toy out of the toy boxes and playing with them tires a girl out.
  7. The "Sweep shilly-shally." (I had to go to the thesaurus for that one.)
  8. We had the "Petunia Pause." I now present the "Doolin Delay." Or the "Doolin Dilly Dally." Also the "LaVida Linger," "Mark Meander," and the "Rocket Respite."
  9. I have no other info. I just ran across this article this morning and was hoping maybe someone here knew a little more.
  10. https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/2022/08/21/unidentified-illness-killing-dogs-northern-michigan/7857417001/
  11. My brother's Aussie has had this happen twice. No matter how much you scrub or what product you use, the smell lingers in the background for weeks to months until it dissipates. Gracie the Aussie has KNOT learned her lesson and still chases them.
  12. Stella has figured out that she fits nicely in a huge slumber ball.
  13. And he will fit in it. Mark found Stella's bed and decided it was juuuuust riiiight. For those who haven't seen Stella her thread is here.
  14. Run-free, Jagger. You will be very much missed.
  15. Camp Broodie has a long-term / medium-term visitor. Not a broodie, not a greyhound, but she thinks she's one of the big dogs. Say hello to Stella. Stella belongs to a member of our extended family who decided to move to a new city to try and find a new job and a new place to live. They need some time to help get life back to normal after a covid-related job loss and all of the ups and downs that go with those big life changes. Stella is going to stay with us until her Dad is settled and has a new home for them to live in. We did not want him to have to rehome Stella when we could easily have her stay here for a while. I met Stella a few years ago and during my first night at her house, she snuck into bed with me and snuggled in under my arm for the night. She knows how to work the system. So, if you see a non-greyhound in our pictures, that will be Stella. LaVida is acting like a broodie with her, and I think they are going to get along well. They are already playing together, play growling and have played bitey-face with tails wagginig the whole time, and have been racing in the yard. Mark is Mark and could care less that she's here. Here's Stella
  16. As much as you miss them, they still bring a smile to your face when you think about them or a laugh when you remember something they did. Gone, but never forgotten.
  17. Phoenix wil still be too hot in September to have one. I think in previous years one of the groups had their version of this event in January.
  18. We are still using Fresh Factors and Joint Health Chewables from Springtime. We saw a huge difference with Rocket when we started him on Fresh Factors - he kind of became the dog version of Tigger. We've had all of the dogs on these products although there were one or two of them where we didn;t really notice much of a difference. We currently use Fresh Factors and Joint Health Cheewables, given with each meal. We tried the Advanced Hip and Joint Chewables that Jan mentioned and found that not only did the dogs not care for them, they also caused some stomach upset. We avoid the Advanced Hip and joint Chewable and use the regular Joint Health Chewable along with Fresh Factors. Those two products can be purchased as "The Combo" on their website.
  19. I'm hoping that airfares drop like some are projecting. We may not get there for October, but a Winter vacation at the beach is not out of the question. I love Rehoboth when no crowds are there. We will definitely miss seeing you . this year.
  20. As much as I hate to say it, all indications are that we won't make it to GRTB this year. Airfare from Phoenix is outrageous, and rental car prices are even worse. We are going to miss being there this year as it is usually our yearly vacation trip. Someone is going to have to ship me a Louie's Pizza. So, who's going?
  21. At this point your vet needs to evaluate it. Many hounds here have needed to have a toe removed due to similar issues and they usually do fine without that toe. Hope your hound is feeling better soon.
