  1. Denamarin is pricey but when I was buying it for Aquitaine I found decent prices on Amazon. Better than the vets could offer.
  2. I am so very sorry. Godspeed, Riley.
  3. I'm going to ask what might sound like a dumb question, but it is because I made Aquitaine lose weight when she went on a kidney diet. We switched from a high grade kibble to the canned iD kidney diet. Her silly human just swapped a can of food for each meal. I didn't do the match to see if she was getting the same amount of calories... needless to say, she lost weight. I realized what I had done and added back calories. I added in lots of bow tie pasta cooked with hamburger or chicken, or I used Fresh Pet as an add in since that girl LOVED her Fresh Pet. I hope things look up soon.
  4. How bad has the heat and humidity been in your area? It may just be too much for her this year. I notice that out here in LA, with the heat Tallulah is down about 1 meal per week... or she would be if I didn't just adjust and add to the following meals. Have you tried some yummy Ensure? Maybe she'd be willing to drink some calories.
  5. You've received great information and suggestions from many, and like many, I completely agree with Jen's suggestions. I lost my last girl to osteo. The vets were very clear that even at the highest dosage, there would still be breakthrough pain. I chose to let her go that day. If I were home on a daily basis, I probably would not have done it quite that fast but I was in the midst of packing the apartment to move across country and there was going to be too much change to her world, her pain, where she would sleep and how to get her across country for me to prolong her pain so that I would have more time with her. If you are home with Crouton, and can monitor her, then I would say give the higher levels of pain relief that have been suggested. If you see no improvement in her pain, then you will have to do what seems unthinkable. Hugs. My heart hurts for you.
  6. I did the bag, partially filled, with towels underneath and Aquitaine standing and me on the floor next to her petting and cooing and holding the bag/leg so she didn't kick it off!
  7. I am so very sorry to hear this. You could not possibly have loved him any more than you do. Godspeed, Chase.
  8. I am so very sorry for your sudden loss of your beloved Brooke.
  9. I am so very sorry to hear this. Many prayers and hugs.
  10. Throp knew he was loved as completely as possible. Please don't beat yourself up for a decision made out of love. Godspeed, Throp.
  11. I am so very sorry for your loss.
  12. Big hugs and love for the Taylor, Face, Mark family unit.
  13. This. I went through this once, the e-vet was concerned enough to keep her there and medicated until her specialist came in. He called me about 8 hours later to say they found nothing at all wrong despite a battery of tests. It became known as the $2,000 gas bubble (NYC is expensive!). No regret. Better to know it was a gas bubble than ignore it and have anything happen. You are a good mama.
