  1. Ok, my boy Luka is 11. He eats a good amount of kibble before bed. He does this this every night. He gets a cookie too. He eats grass first thing in the morning but does not throw up. I have started to give him a pepcid in the morning. He is in a dog run, no chemicals on the grass. My brother and Mom can't get him back in the house because he is eating grass .I am frustrated.
  2. I am so sorry, what devastating news.
  3. Try Olewo carrots, helps calm the digestive tract and firm up the poop. Lots of info here on Greytalk from people it has helped.
  4. I am a big fan of Fresh Factors and Join t Health. My hounds Luka and Peace are on the testimonial page. I am a big fan of Fresh Factors and Join t Health. My hounds Luka and Peace are on the testimonial page.
  5. My girl Peace was a gobbler. Since I free feed what I did was in the morning and evening I took about a cup of kibble, soaked it in water and held it for her as she ate. The rest of the kibble she ate was dry but since she wasn't so hungry when she ate that she didn't choke.
  6. I give my boys both the carrots and beets. Luka's skin isn't as flakey any more. He used to have thick spots of flakey skin on his back legs and they are gone. I love Olewo carrots and beets.
  7. Look into Olewo carrots for the poop issues. Do a search on greytalk and you can see how it has helped many people. Please remember your hound is making a lot of adjustments, her life is completely changed. Don't want to overwhelm her with too many things at once. I second getting a harness for her. Congrats and welcome to the wonderful world of greyhounds. Look into Olewo carrots for the poop issues. Do a search on greytalk and you can see how it has helped many people. 8. How sweet they are together. Bless you for taking them in and making sure they are together. What a beautiful way to honor the hounds you had to say goodbye to.

  19. Dog flu is back. If they start coughing take them to the vet right away.
  20. Look up olewo carrots here on greytalk. Have had great sucess with it. All natural organic dehydrated carrots. Good stuff.
  21. I haven't cut down on the kibble as I free feed. I haven't noticed them gaining any weight. The only thing that would have any calories that added up to anything is the coconut oil.
  22. Oh no, I was just thinking as I opened Greytalk that maybe I would see a new photo of them. They were so sweet together. I am so sorry that you had to say goodbye to Mary. You gave her a fabulous end to her life story. May her memories and photos give you comfort at this sad time. She will be missed here on Greytalk.
  23. So sorry for your heartache. Cancer is a thief and steals our beloved hounds without thought to age and otherwise good health and spirits. I lost my first greyhound to osteo. I had been talking with her thru an animal communicator and my girl asked if I was already looking for another hound. I had but felt funny doing it. She told me no- do it now! I went to work and found my next hound on-line with a group in Indiana. I brought him home 4 weeks after my girl passed. It did not make my pain any less but it kept my heart happy and busy getting to learn about my new boy. I will always have at least two hounds. I don't ever want an empty house. My boy Luka wanted me to adopt two more hounds making it 3 in my house. I would do it if not for the vet bills. Hugs, Jan, Luka and Carter
  24. While dogs love raw carrots and it is a good low calorie treat since the dogs have teeth that tear and not grind the carrots mostly pass thru the body undigested. The Olewo carrots because of the way they are made your dog will get the full benefit of all the great stuff in them. You can make the carrots as firm or as soupy as you want by adding water or adding more carrots to make them more solid. My boys and my girl Peace love them and it has worked magic on their poops. You can use hot tap water or put it the microwave to heat the water. So many dog people rave about Olewo carrots and they have helped many greyhounds with their poop issues. I have been using for about 3 years now. I have had many conversations with Ina who runs Olewo USA and this product has helped so many dogs. She actually closed her high end dog boutique to become the US supplier for Olewo. I have been passing out samples of the carrots at my meet and greets. When a product works this great I love to tell people about it. I was trying to talk her into going to GIG as a vendor last year but they are a small operation and it would have been really hard to do.
