  1. My new girl, Jenny, appears to be a snarker. She's given my son's dog a couple of warnings. I've never owned a snarky dog before. What, if anything, do you do about the snark? Do you correct or let it ride as long as it doesn't go any farther? I'm guessing corrections might result in a bite without a warning, right?
  2. Jenny has begun to take biscuits from my hand but still will not take larger treats like tripe sticks or bullies. Those I have to toss on the floor and she'll happily snatch them up. Silly puppy!
  3. It's all fun and games until somebody wakes up. I have very little photographic proof that any of my hounds ever stood up.
  4. Your dogs are totally out of control.
  5. Over the years, I’ve had 3 Greyhounds and all have detested the crate. Lola actually injured her mouth and destroyed the crate to escape it. Baby gates have been a better option for us.
  6. Do any of your dogs’ noses slant to the left? Jenny’s does. I wonder if it’s hereditary or due to an injury (although there is no evidence of one).
  7. If I'm interpreting the data correctly, Jenny is a great granddaughter of Gable Dodge. His son, Dodgem By Design, sired Jenny's dam, Brandi Rocks. Jenny certainly has her sire and grandsire's enormous, origami ears.
  8. My Jenny’s ancestry goes back to 2 Irish “unknown dogs” in the 1800’s. Fascinating!
  9. Jenny (Jenny Rocks) traces back to Spicy Bitt (sire) and Old Fly (dam) both Irish dogs. So cool!
  10. All the time! When I'm getting laser-eye, "What?", when I'm leaving the house, "I'll be right back". "Wanna go outside?". "Wanna cookie"?. "What are you doing?"
  11. Well done! What a beautiful boy. I live with major depressive disorder and I can't tell you how many times my dogs and other pets have literally saved my life. Animals truly do heal broken hearts and hurting souls.
  12. A cup of coffee and Cletus. Perfect way to start the day! Love you, buddy!
  13. Such a tragedy. My deepest condolences. Run with the angels, sweet Fibi.
  14. Jenny has begun taking small treats from the palm of my hand (after a week at home) but she seems unsure when she does.
  15. Check out Poemstones on Etsy. I've had stones made for each of my Greys and one for my son's cat. I requested a flat bottom on the stone so it could stand as a gravemarker where I buried my dogs' ashes. https://www.etsy.com/shop/Poemstones?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=122507808 My condolences to your friend.
  16. Jenny has a quirk that I've never encountered in any other dog; she won't eat anything from my hand. It's like she doesn't know how (which is understandable, actually). I've been having to toss treats on the floor in order for her to take them. Anyone else's Grey do this when they first came home?
  17. The Mohawk, as well as the ridges of fur on the sides of Greyhounds' necks, serve as reins for the fairies when they ride the dogs.
  18. I’m going to check. Jenny’s Mohawk is little-tiny. Cute. Oh, and she is almost entirely black with a small, white patch on her chest.
  19. Uh, oh. Her 'first morning' was at 5am. I just stood in the doorway in my p.j.'s, half asleep, until she was done doing her business. It's now 9:17am and the girl refuses to pee!
  20. I need to catch a urine sample from Jenny today but cannot take it to the vet immediately. I'll take it in today, just not right away. Can I refrigerate it for 3-4 hours?
  21. Get your box of tissues ready. This video is fabulous! https://youtu.be/udB5M06TYXE
  22. Isn't there a line of Greyhounds that sport a Mohawk? Jenny has a little bitty one.
  23. Especially the Noodle Horse. I’m seriously considering.
  24. Wendy and Lola both enjoyed disemboweling their hedgies and removing the grunter. Jenny is still an unknown entity. Currently she has 2 hedgies on her bed.
