  1. Her vet actually brought it to my attention. I hadn’t noticed it. I’m keeping an eye on it, for now. I tend to think she may have overdone it on a chew and irritated her lips. Chews are off the menu for the time being.
  2. Can anyone think why Jenny’s ordinarily black lips would have turned pink?
  3. My second hound, Lola, had quite a strong, unpleasant odor. Like you, I thought it was ‘kennel’ smell. No amount of shampooing made it go away. She also had beautiful teeth but horrible breath. After I lost Lola suddenly, I began to wonder if the odor wasn’t linked to some underlying illness. The vet never could figure out what happened, but her blood work at the end was completely out of whack. My only suggestion is to get some blood work and urinalysis done just in case. I pray it’s nothing a good shampoo can take care of.
  4. I’m having a brain cramp and I need GT’s help. There’s a great article written by a woman who has performing Greys about how these dogs have never shared their space, never been in a home, etc. Some friends of my son’s are thinking of adopting and I want to share it with them. Is there a link to this article?
  5. Yes, I kept the name Jenny. JRo is one of her many nick names - JennyRoo, JenJen, RooRoo. 😊
  6. Awww...Smoochie seems to be settling in nicely. Thank you for sharing these photos and updates. BTW Jenny has the coldest, drippiest nose of any Grey I have owned and she knows how to use it to get your attention!
  7. Nope...not curvy. Perfectly lovely needle nose.
  8. It’s so nice to know where the siblings are. I wonder if they, too, are black, bony girls? Jenny’s nose curves to the left. Does Emma’s curve as well? It doesn’t seem so in the foto.
  9. It will take awhile for things to settle down. Give Emma her space. Let her set the pace. You’ll be amazed at how much they bloom and blossom with time and patience. Soft poop might indicate hookworms. Get a fecal done ASAP. Jenny is my third Greyhound. I am addicted to this breed. Enjoy your girl!
  10. Oh, my goodness! They’re almost identical! How long have you had Emma? I’ve had Jenny almost a year. She was a bit of a challenge to potty train and had separation anxiety but all’s well now. Jenny’s a world class whiner. How about Emma? Welcome home Emma!
  11. Was she looking directly into his eyes? This could be interpreted as an aggression by some dogs.
  12. I’m so deeply sorry. Rest In Peace, sweet boy.
  13. Farewell, beautiful girl. My deepest sympathies.
  14. I can’t guess how long the cut will take to heal but I highly recommend using EMT gel to speed the process along. It’s been practically miraculous on my girls’ wounds.
  15. What a gift! Fabulous! Jenny sits next to me in DH's recliner when he's not home. I get to play with her silky, soft ears all the time. Heaven!
  16. Thanks to all for your advice. I ended up giving her a Beano tablet (vet approved) that I had on hand. No more gurgles. I’m thinking maybe she was given ‘people food’ by our guests on Christmas Eve which she is not used too. Regardless, I’m requesting a fecal when we go to the vet on Tuesday for a previously scheduled appointment.
  17. Poor Jenny has big time tummy gurgles. She must be quite uncomfortable as she did not eat breakfast for the first time ever. Anything I can safely give her to release the gas? Lord, I hope this is not hookworm!!!
