  1. Don't forget that infected teeth do more that hurt, they are dumping a bacterial load into the blood stream on a constant basis. This can cause brain abscesses, sinus infections, cardiac problems etc.
  2. Carol, I'm so sorry that sweet Magic had to leave you. Remember all the good times, the silly things, the stink eye, he's still there in you heart and memories.
  3. Beautiful Cleo ... we miss you too!
  4. Lori, I'm so sorry for your loss to you and Michael. Run free sweet Sheana, Bill and all your other friends are waiting.
  5. They have been used medically in the hospital where I worked, but usually for circulation ... tip of finger or in my favorite patient her dog bit part of her nose off. You can re attach but there is no little to no circulation back from the attached part and it eventually dies. With leeches, they drain off excess fluid and keep the swelling down so whatever circulation there is is easier. They are sterile, kept in special vials and refrigerated, single patient items. We use sterile maggots in wound care too, they're usually encased in a gauzy dressing to keep down the yuck factor
  6. Trazadone was a wonder drug for my girl Gracie, she hid in the closet and shook so hard that she rattled the doors, panted, paced and drooled. On Trazadone she was comfortable, a bit sleepy, but not drunk or wobbly. She actually walked outside to pee during the worst part of the evening. There is no loading dose, it's very quick acting and no after effects the next day.
  7. Sounds like she's really home and ready to get back to normal.
  8. Keeping both you and Doodles in my thoughts and prayers. Sounds like she's doing better and wants to recover.
  9. Oh no! Keeping you and Doodles in my thoughts and prayers. So glad that you had friends that could help you, that is a nightmare of mine ... no one to help.

  13. Be sure and mention the overheating problem and warn them to watch out for his wonky back. If they are aware of something to look out for you shouldn't have any problems.

  17. Run free sweet Poodle. Pam, I'm so sorry Poodle had to leave, I always enjoyed reading about him in your posts and I know how much you loved him. Remember that he's curled up there in your heart.
  18. Saw it up into useable chunks and feed it frozen - semi frozen, the hounds will love it. Mine have gotten a lot of freezer burned stuff; it's still filling & nutritious and even though the taste and texture would turn us off the hounds love it

    I remember too,
  20. I might chop up some garlic and infuse some olive oil and give it a try on my toe. I sliced the bottom of my big toe and a painful corn, callus, something has formed. Might have stinky feet for a while and crave spaghetti and garlic bread though LOL!
  21. I'm so sorry Judy, they leave such a huge hole in our lives when they leave that it's hard to remember that they left our hearts filled with love. Run free sweet boy.
