  1. I'm so sorry for your loss, sisters are so very special to us.
  2. Hi and welcome! What a good looking boy you have there. Mine started out being early risers but as they settled in it got later and later, I do have a doggie door though so I can ignore them without fear of a puddle.
  3. Judy I'm so sorry. Saint was such a big beautiful boy, I loved seeing pictures of him. Godspeed sweet boy.
  4. Sounds like mouth wrestling to me, puppies do it all the time along with fierce growls. Just playing.

    Amelia

Run free Amelia, hugs to you and all who loved her.
  7. I use Melatonin for Gracie during July, it really helps her with anxiety and coping with loud noises. I use 3 mg tablets and use up to 9 mg a day depending on how close to the 4th it is. I don't know that it makes dogs sleepy like it does us, but it sure helps her be less anxious. Have you visited this site ? http://www.canine-ep...m/melatonin.htm Very good information, hope it helps .
  8. What a beautiful tribute, I'm so sorry he had to leave you.
  9. I don't feed totally raw but I usually give a handful of mixed gizzards and hearts with a turkey neck, or put several of each on top of kibble. The only organ meat I have to watch out for is liver, I have to give it with bony stuff or they get fairly loose poo. I go to an Hispanic market and get offal, something called pepitas which is mixed intestines and stomach from the look of it and chicken feet ... the hounds go ape over chicken feet! I've added "a little of this and a little of that" to kibble , or to a chicken quarter with out separating anything. If they caught their own they would eat the whole thing in one or two big gulps, including feathers or fur. Again, I don't feed totally raw, this is just my experience.
  10. I get mine fro BestBullySticks.com and have never had a problem, they have some that are from USA product and some from Argentina.

  14. If they have never had raw before they may look at you funny for a moment or two as they try to figure it out, my two inhale them! I feed kibble but get necks at the grocery store and they have them as a snack or meal, depending on the size, at least once a week. Yesterdays were bigger around than my wrist , six inch chunks that weighed in at a pound ... meal. Sometimes they are about an inch in diameter 7-8 inches long ... a snack. Turkey gizzards I do cut up, they're big, but chicken gizzards and hearts just get mixed in with kibble.
  15. Just hand them to them raw! If there is a lot of skin on the neck you might want to remove that. That's what my pups had for dinner yesterday in fact They get turkey necks at least once a week for teeth and love giblets, heart, gizzard ... all raw.
  16. I'm so sorry for your loss, what a tragic accident.
  17. What a beautiful girl! She's had a wonderful life with you, almost 11 years ... that is amazing. She knows how much you love her and she'll be in your hearts forever. I'll be thinking of Luna tomorrow as you and your husband help her on her way.
  18. I'm so sorry Deb, you know she's finally running with all the hounds now and loving every minute.
