krissn333
My Acie girl is having another surgery tomorrow morning. When she was having the muscle issues, we discovered another tumor-like growth on her belly this time, in addition to the small one that came back on her leg. We had the doctor have a look at the one on her belly this morning. We were talking about doing the 5FU injectable chemo on her leg, but, he would hesitate to do it with the one on her belly not REALLY knowing what it is. So, he said we may as well remove the one on her belly while it's small (pea-sized) and since she's going to be under anyway, he'll remove the one on her leg. We weren't going to put her out again to take the one on the leg, but the one on her belly needs to go, so we might as well do the one on the leg. Recovery might be a bit of a pain - it was when she had the tumor removed. For a girl who is turning 11 on February 5th, has leukemia, has had a major muscle problem, and has these little tumors everywhere, she is tough to keep quiet Like eating tomato soup with a fork Quote Kristin in Moline, IL USA with Ozzie (MRL Crusin Clem), Clarice (Clarice McBones), Latte and Sage the IGs, and the kitties: Violet and Rose Lovingly Remembered: Sutra (Fliowa Sutra) 12/02/97-10/12/10, Pinky (Pick Me) 04/20/03-11/19/12, Fritz (Fritz Fire) 02/05/01 - 05/20/13, Ace (Fantastic Ace) 02/05/01 - 07/05/13, and Carrie (Takin the Crumbs) 05/08/99 - 09/04/13. krissn333
Just wanted to update on Ace...Dr. Less called me around 11 to say she was out of surgery. The little spots on her leg turned out to be impacted suture (), not more tumors. The one he removed from her belly was pea-sized and didn't go very deep. He's sent that out for pathology. If it comes back as spindle cell sarcoma like the first leg tumor did, then we will treat both areas with 5FU. So, recovery this time around should be much less stressful on both of us (hopefully!) Thank you all for your good thoughts! krissn333
She did really well overnight - this morning she is understandably a little bit sore as some of her stomach muscles were poked at yesterday. She is bright-eyed and waggy though, happy to eat her breakfast. We're resting in bed this morning, being a little bit lazy The sutures are on her left side...the crummy thing is that she usually likes to lay ON her left side so she can be looking at my side of the bed. She tried last night and decided that was uncomfortable. Hopefully in a couple of days she will be a little bit more comfortable.
