Houndtime Posted September 21, 2011 Author Share Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) She's home. She's very loopy. Dr. Newman said she did well. I was surprised how many stitches she has. She has stitches in the vulva area and where the two growths were removed. One was a cyst about the size of a large pea. That area has about 5 or 6 stitches and the other was a wart having just one smaller stitch. Dr. Newman said she is such a sweet dog. Dr. Feldman came out and said she is so good. She was so quiet and patient waiting in her crate. Then the tech came out with her and said she was so cute and good in her crate. This is our busy missy, who barks and runs through the house like the wind. I guess she displayed good manners away from home. We missed her today; she is my shadow. Lets hope she feels good tomorrow because that is when she is getting her e-collar put on. We didn't bother tonight as she is hardly moving at. Thanks for all the good thoughts and wishes. The positive vibes worked well, because she is home and she looks good. She has only peed a little bit. The vet practice called to check up on her and I told the tech. She said try some ice. Idol turned her head away. The tech said we have to get her to drink. So, I made a little chicken broth and she finished it all and then turned to the water bowl and drank some. I think I got her started!! When she's willing to eat, you can sneak moisture into her by adding water to her food. If she eats kibble, add a bit a warm water to it. ("Warm" will make it smell better to her. To me, not so much.) Also, vanilla Ensure--the plain, basic stuff. It's nicely sweet, so she might like it. Also, you can try canned dog food. There's lots of built-in moisture with it.
