Today Is A Sad Day

I have a Friend in the UK who always picks up the unwanted from the Kennel . Stevie was on of them. The Owner brought him to the Kennel and said :" I don't want him anymore ,you can have him.Well, the ultimate Betrayal for this poor old Boy. Today had Stevie's suffering an End.Stevie died today.

"

I'm sad to say that Stevie passed on today. He was going down hill so much, especially this week, I had him put to sleep at 10.45 A.M.

Stevie was a dog that never complained and it was hard to tell just how much pain he was in. He fell over coming through my back door and hit his head, and then groaned when I helped him up. Poor, poor Stevie, 14 years and 8 months old and to all intents and purposes a long life, but sadly so much of it wasted living the lonely life of a kennel dog.

At the end of this month he would have been with me two years, two years of living as a pet dog instead of an inmate of a canine prison. Quite honestly he deserved more, and would have had more if I had known earlier he needed a home. Well Stevie has gone, but just how many Stevie's are out there living out their life in a kennel instead of languishing on someone's couch.

Let's hope there is such a place as "The Rainbow Bridge" where we will meet all our doggy friends again.

Aglish Steve 1-10-1995------19-06-2010.

A sad Story indeed.RIP Stevie

My belief is that they only remember the last few months/years of their life. They

remember the happy times & the happy, loving people they were last with.

I believe Stevie will only remember the last moments he had & they were with

you & how much you loved him & how much you cared for him. He won't

remember any of the bad stuff. The good stuff erases it.

The last thing he saw was the loving person that he adored. :beatheart

I believe exactly what Hilda said. You can't help but be angry at the people who would throw a dear little soul away like he was trash, but he forgot them the moment he knew he was forever safe and loved.

You were Stevie's angel. I'm so sorry you lost your precious boy.

There is a Rainbow Bridge. Godspeed Stevie and may the wind always be at your back. Our dogs live in the now so all Stevie knew when he crossed over to the bridge was that he was LOVED by that very special friend and guardian. Rest in peace Stevie!
