Guest my3greys Posted May 7, 2010 Share Posted May 7, 2010 I lost my spencer, my first greyhound I adopted in 2002. I was so afraid not knowing anything about them. He bonded to me on day one when I took him for his first walk at the adoption agency. I took him for his last walk yesterday before I drove him to the vet. I can hardly type for my tears. It was his time and my journey with him is over. He was so beautiful and regal. Our journey with greyhounds is ended now. After spencer, we adopted grace the following year,,and the following year we adopted Rueben. Grace passed last June with cancer and now Spencer. Rueben is left and so sad. We then adopted this past November Fiona, a little iggy who is nine. After these have left us, our life with our beautiful greyhounds is over. We are aging now and would never bring another one into our home and have it outlive us...I am so sad today and see Spencer everywhere around me...he never left my side. I am so sorry for your loss of Ali...this hurts so bad..yesterday was easier,,I knew I had done the right thing yesterday and I had some comfort just knowing he was not hurting....but today is different..today the tears are flowing and I have time to reflect..and I see him everywhere..and everything hurts..I just brought my other two in from potty break..and they always got their treat...and I didn't take the third one out today to give ....and the tears flowed again...my heart is broken...really broken,,he was my heart dog...he was mine...I love all..but he was mine..
