Guest ss556 Posted April 15, 2010 Share Posted April 15, 2010 A whole year without my boy, my love, my joy. Not a day goes by without thoughts of him. Sometimes the pain is still so intense and sometimes I smile at the many wonderful memories we made. Alan filled my life with love. He made me smile. He was so sweet, so loving, so easy. He had magnificent, deep, soulful eyes. And he was so handsome! Such a peaceful spirit, a gentle soul who is so very missed. We were so connected, so tuned into each other, I was always amazed by that. I can’t imagine having a stronger, closer bond than I did with Alan. I could never get enough of him. He gave me 8 ½ blessed years. I was so proud and lucky to have him. Some days, I can feel him with me – yet other days he’s so far away. I remember the scritches, the brushing him, the baths, the walks, the playing, the sleeping with me. I remember the way he greeted me at the door, so happy, so proud, wagging that tail. I remember playing on the front lawn with him, running and jumping and then lying down in his favorite spot to watch everyone go by. We planted a tree in that spot for him, after he left us last year, and it’s now blooming. I have a home full of memories of him. I like it that way. His collars are still behind the front door, his coats and blankies in the closet and his cookies in his cookie jar. His memory box is full in the living room. Pictures everywhere. I smile when I get into my car everyday, my license plates “ALAN 77C” and his collar on my mirror. I cherish all the cards and gifts I received when he passed and the kind words here. Alan meant the world to me and he knew that. He was my pocketful of sunshine every single day. I love him so. Hug your hounds today and everyday, I’m glad I did. Mommy could never say enough about you and I’ll always miss you. I sleep with your Bunny every night. I hope that the Bridge does exist and that you are watching over me. It was 5 years ON 4/5/05 when Margo went to the bridge & I still feel her. When I got Sabrina I thought she will never replace Margo & she hasnt because she has her own spot. I guess that is why our hearts have more than 1 chamber. How many times I have traveled it.....the trip never gets easier. The good thing is that we can sometimes smile about them....but then the memory comes back of that dreadful day. This morning I looked outside & a lone purple iris was blooming where Gogh used to hide from the others while chasing. Alan will send you a sign today or this week.
