silverfish Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 It's with a heavy heart that we called and made the appt. to euthanize Morgan at 4:30 today. 3 years ago this month he was diagnosed with osteo. when his front leg broke but the cancer didn't get him. He developed LS a year ago and it has progressed to the point he doesn't have full control of his bowels. He was 13 in August and has been through so much. Oh, I.m so sorry to hear this. You should be proud, though. You have given him three happy, pain-free years of quality life with you, and now you're letting him go before he has to suffer. Three years is a wonderful record for osteosarcoma, especially when the first sign was a pathological fracture, it seems to me. I'm just so sorry that you're losing your sweet hound. Three years is a marvellous achievement, but it's never long enough, is it? Many hugs to you and Morgan. Tell him he's lucky to have had you to see him through and love him this much. Please know that his life has had a great impact and many others. My decision to go through with Willie's treatment was inspired by Morgan's courageous battle.
