  1. Sending lots of prayers and good thoughts. Hoping for a good morning update.
  2. I'm so sorry...but gosh 14...wow! Run fast with the angels, sweetheart.
  3. Tracey, I'm so sorry Super Cosmo has gone. That lady has been such an inspiration to many and had such strength. Her job here on earth was done, and hopefully that brings you peace. Hugs to you.
  4. Warlock deserves a special memorial and I've had a hard time putting into words how very special he is. This is a celebration of his life with us. He was a rock to the pack, and to me. All the dogs who have come and gone loved him and he was the "go to" dog. If anyone needed comfort...he was there for them and he would happily share his bed with anyone. If I needed comfort he was there for me, and seemed to sense that a chin kiss would make all my troubles go away. He had a special calm and healing energy about him that I can't explain; Warlock was my Zen dog. Warlock was always regal in everything he did and always held his head up proudly, even as he left for The Bridge. Warlock had a job here on earth and his job was done, and the day before he left he gave me a gift I will never forget. He held his head up proudly and scared the school bus away. He woofed at the unseen creatures in the woods to warn them not to get to close. He proudly trotted around the yard to do his morning and evening yard patrol because it was and had always been his job. He enjoyed the fall weather and took pleasure in all the little things life had to offer even though his body was failing him. His last night with us he went to each dog as if to say his good-byes, and only they will know what secrets he whispered to them. No worries, Warlock. Your brother has taken over with yard patrol and he woofs at the unseen creatures in the woods. Hatter keeps the school bus away after he realized you weren't here to do it any more. Frank sleeps in your bed though I'm sure he misses having you next to him. Your brother also gives those same chin kisses that make me giggle and I smile when I think how so much alike you and Dodger are. We love and miss you, my sweet gentle boy. It's time for you to rest...your job is done and we are so much better for having you in our lives.
  5. Jey, he's on baytril. I have a call to the vet who was treating him at the emergency clinic...he has a practice in a town about 30 min. away. I'm also waiting to hear back from OSU...if we can get him stabilized again, I'm going to try to get him up there tomorrow.
  6. Warlock has worsened thru the night. He's vomiting again and tried to start drinking excessively. I gave him his cerenia this morning, and switched his water to ice cubes so he can stay hydrated and not get overfilled. Dr. Martin is gone until Mon. so I'm without a vet. I don't think Warlock can handle a 2 hr trip to Nashville, so I'm feeling a little lost right now. The e-vet doesn't open until 6pm. Right now, all I can do is try to keep him comfortable. Today is the 1 year anniversary of when Brooke broke her leg, and spending the next 18 days trying to save her. I'm an emotional basket case. Please keep Warlock in your prayers.
  7. Heard from my vet that Warlock's case has been turned over to Dr. Couto. I had a suspicion that might happen since I didn't hear back from Dr. Zaldivar yesterday. I know Dr. Couto loves a good mystery, or trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Warlock is having a good day. He's more relaxed today than he has been, but that's because I didn't load him up and haul him to the vet. We've been in and out to take advantage of the weather. Even I'm feeling a little more relaxed. Keep the prayers coming and hopefully Dr. Couto can figure my boy out.
  8. I'm getting to be an expert on reading bloodwork because of what I'm going thru with Warlock, and Harley's bloodwork looks OK. The creatinine/Bun is slightly above normal and that can be because it's normal for him, or stress from being at the vet, or his thyroid. It's hard to get a good platelet count when they clump on the side of the tube, and as long as he's not bruising easily it shouldn't be anything to worry about. Personally, I'd do a reject in a couple months unless he has symptoms you're concerned about. Hatter is hypothyroid and when his levels are off he has seizures, similar to what you described, and his creatinine/bun ratio is elevated, and actually his have gotten higher than Harley's numbers, but he does not have kidney disease. I'd be more inclined to run a full thyroid panel to see if his meds need to be adjusted or if you've just recently started the meds, give them a little time to work and then recheck in 2 or 3 months. Of, course if he has another episode I'd definitely run a full thyroid panel sooner, than later. Hope that helps a little and puts your mind at ease.
  9. Warlock had a good night. He's not drinking and peeing excessively so we're pleased and hopefully that means we're getting a handle on the UTI. He's eating good and taking his meds like a good boy. No vomiting or nausea so his pancreas seems to be settling down. He's weak but doesn't seem uncomfortable. This morning I thought I heard deer in the woods at the back of our property, and I let Warlock out...sure enough he set off the stranger danger alarm. A couple woofs and a proud prance along the fence-line and all is good. The weather here is amazing...cool nights, and daytime temps in the mid 70s. Warlock and I are going to enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and relax and heal. Please keep Warlock in your thoughts and prayers. Hugs to everyone.
  10. Lots of healing thoughts and prayers for Domino, and hugs to you. It is so nerve wracking when they're sick or having surgery...the mom in us wants to make them all better.
  11. Warlock has been discharged for now. He'll get to enjoy the wonderful fall weather we're having instead of being cooped up at the vet. He loves to lay on the porch and soak up the fresh air and sunshine. We're still waiting for the newest UA results and a Lymes test was sent out today. He's on a slew of meds and a prescription diet to basically treat all the organs that aren't working very good. I still haven't heard back from OSU with their thoughts. We're going to enjoy our moments. Thanks everyone for the prayers.
  12. I just heard from OSU by email and for whatever reason they didn't look at the records I attached to my original email, because the first thing the Dr. asked is "has he been tested for Cushings?" so Dr. Martin is faxing everything to them right now. Hopefully we'll get some answers soon from OSU. The vet tech did say Warlock was doing OK. I know he hates spending his days there. Only 2 more hours and he can come home for the night. We miss him!
  13. I don't post many pics of my pack, but since everyone has Warlock in their prayers here are a few pics of my handsome man. And the infamous reunion of Warlock and his littermate, Dodger. Thanks Donna!!!
  14. I just got back from leaving Warlock with the vet for the day. His bloodwork results are back and they're not good at all!! About the only thing working in his body are his kidneys. All his other organs are starting to fail. Dr. Martin has given up on OSU and has a call in to someone in CA for a consult. I should hear something in the next couple hours. I wish Warlock wouldn't give me hope by doing his normal quirky things.
  15. Warlock had a good night at home, and he'll be going back to the vet this morning for more fluids and IV antibiotics. He stayed dry all night, and was looking for something to eat this morning. I think the vet is going to offer him food today and see how he tolerates it. I gave him ice cubes thru the night so that he could get about 1/4 cup of water in him every hour and he did good. He has already done his yard patrol with a couple woofs to scare off any intruders who may be lurking in the woods, and the school bus will be here in about 40 min. Warlock made me smile this morning. I haven't heard back from OSU yet, hopefully today. Keep the good thoughts and prayers coming, it gives us strength. Thank you
  16. Treating for Cushings when in fact it isin't Cushings, would throw Warlock into an Addisonian crisis, something you do not want to happen. I have never heard of Cushings affecting the pancreas. Poor guy, I so hope they can figure out what is going on with him My vet explained Cushings and the pancreas...in layman terms any hormonal imbalance can trigger pancreatitis and a high percentage of dogs with Cushings also have diabetes, so yes, the pancreas is very much affected.
  17. Tanya, sending healing thoughts for Red. Gosh, I know what you're going thru.
  18. All the vets are reluctant to start treatment for Cushings because it has the potential to be harmful. When I sent everything to OSU from 5 vets...every one of them mentioned Cushings in their reports, even the vet who did the ultrasounds. The vets think he has it, but the tests don't support it. I believe he has it and have to follow the recommendations of the vets. The endocrinologist did say he could have it, but still test negative. This episode with Warlock's pancreas is also another thing that goes along with Cushings. It's so frustrating, but hopefully he'll hang in there until we figure out what's going on. Right now we can only treat his symptoms and keep him comfortable.
  19. Warlock is with the local vet now receiving his meds and IV fluids. His prognosis isn't good unless we can figure out what's going on. He has the UTI we've been dealing with and now his pancreas, plus high blood pressure. Today the vet said he doesn't know what to do anymore for Warlock because he has multiple organ involvement. I've contacted OSU for a consult, but unfortunately Dr. Couto is out until the 6th. I just emailed all Warlock's test results and vet records hoping someone up there will have some suggestions on how to proceed. If Warlock would just give me some indication he's had enough, I'd know what to do. This morning he scared the bus away, enjoyed laying on the porch in the sunshine, trotted around the yard a couple times and did his normal yard patrol. He's weak but he still wants to do his normal routine, and he held himself up proudly while he did it. I told the vet this morning, he's not ready to go yet...at least not today.
  20. Warlock is home while we wait for the regular vet's office to open. He looks better than he did on Sat. and he felt good enough to scare the school bus away this morning. Every morning Warlock has a job...he scares the school bus away, and he's good at his job...that school bus gets frightened and hghtails it down the road. Warlock thinks it's his job and every morning he stands on the porch or at the fence and gives one or two woofs and that bus gets very afraid and leaves. Warlock is always so proud of himself, and struts his stuff. This morning the bus followed us down our street and when I pulled into the driveway Warlock heard the back-up alarm on the bus and gave out his woof while he was still in the van. Scared that bus right out of there! The e-vet said he's not out of the woods, and will need fluids and monitoring until mid-week. Both e-vets that treated Warlock were surprised that his Cushings test came back negative a couple weeks ago. They both said he has all the classic symptoms...that makes about 5 vets now that think he has Cushings but the tests results don't support it. He'll spend the day with the local vet and if needed he'll go back to the e-vet tonight. I'll update later. Thanks everyone for the good thoughts and prayers...Warlock and I need your continued support while we figure out what's going on.
  21. Patti, the box is beautiful and so Flashy. It suits him, and should bring peace to your heart.
  22. You don't know how hopeful that makes me feel. Thank you!
