  1. Denise, where are you? Haven't heard from you in ages.

    Hope everything is okay.

    Nancy

  2. Sending lots of prayers and good thoughts. Hoping for a good morning update.
  3. I'm so sorry...but gosh 14...wow! Run fast with the angels, sweetheart.
  4. Tracey, I'm so sorry Super Cosmo has gone. That lady has been such an inspiration to many and had such strength. Her job here on earth was done, and hopefully that brings you peace. Hugs to you.
  5. Warlock deserves a special memorial and I've had a hard time putting into words how very special he is. This is a celebration of his life with us. He was a rock to the pack, and to me. All the dogs who have come and gone loved him and he was the "go to" dog. If anyone needed comfort...he was there for them and he would happily share his bed with anyone. If I needed comfort he was there for me, and seemed to sense that a chin kiss would make all my troubles go away. He had a special calm and healing energy about him that I can't explain; Warlock was my Zen dog. Warlock was always regal in everything he did and always held his head up proudly, even as he left for The Bridge. Warlock had a job here on earth and his job was done, and the day before he left he gave me a gift I will never forget. He held his head up proudly and scared the school bus away. He woofed at the unseen creatures in the woods to warn them not to get to close. He proudly trotted around the yard to do his morning and evening yard patrol because it was and had always been his job. He enjoyed the fall weather and took pleasure in all the little things life had to offer even though his body was failing him. His last night with us he went to each dog as if to say his good-byes, and only they will know what secrets he whispered to them. No worries, Warlock. Your brother has taken over with yard patrol and he woofs at the unseen creatures in the woods. Hatter keeps the school bus away after he realized you weren't here to do it any more. Frank sleeps in your bed though I'm sure he misses having you next to him. Your brother also gives those same chin kisses that make me giggle and I smile when I think how so much alike you and Dodger are. We love and miss you, my sweet gentle boy. It's time for you to rest...your job is done and we are so much better for having you in our lives.
  6. Jey, he's on baytril. I have a call to the vet who was treating him at the emergency clinic...he has a practice in a town about 30 min. away. I'm also waiting to hear back from OSU...if we can get him stabilized again, I'm going to try to get him up there tomorrow.
  7. Warlock has worsened thru the night. He's vomiting again and tried to start drinking excessively. I gave him his cerenia this morning, and switched his water to ice cubes so he can stay hydrated and not get overfilled. Dr. Martin is gone until Mon. so I'm without a vet. I don't think Warlock can handle a 2 hr trip to Nashville, so I'm feeling a little lost right now. The e-vet doesn't open until 6pm. Right now, all I can do is try to keep him comfortable. Today is the 1 year anniversary of when Brooke broke her leg, and spending the next 18 days trying to save her. I'm an emotional basket case. Please keep Warlock in your prayers.
  8. Heard from my vet that Warlock's case has been turned over to Dr. Couto. I had a suspicion that might happen since I didn't hear back from Dr. Zaldivar yesterday. I know Dr. Couto loves a good mystery, or trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Warlock is having a good day. He's more relaxed today than he has been, but that's because I didn't load him up and haul him to the vet. We've been in and out to take advantage of the weather. Even I'm feeling a little more relaxed. Keep the prayers coming and hopefully Dr. Couto can figure my boy out.
  9. I'm getting to be an expert on reading bloodwork because of what I'm going thru with Warlock, and Harley's bloodwork looks OK. The creatinine/Bun is slightly above normal and that can be because it's normal for him, or stress from being at the vet, or his thyroid. It's hard to get a good platelet count when they clump on the side of the tube, and as long as he's not bruising easily it shouldn't be anything to worry about. Personally, I'd do a reject in a couple months unless he has symptoms you're concerned about. Hatter is hypothyroid and when his levels are off he has seizures, similar to what you described, and his creatinine/bun ratio is elevated, and actually his have gotten higher than Harley's numbers, but he does not have kidney disease. I'd be more inclined to run a full thyroid panel to see if his meds need to be adjusted or if you've just recently started the meds, give them a little time to work and then recheck in 2 or 3 months. Of, course if he has another episode I'd definitely run a full thyroid panel sooner, than later. Hope that helps a little and puts your mind at ease.
  10. Warlock had a good night. He's not drinking and peeing excessively so we're pleased and hopefully that means we're getting a handle on the UTI. He's eating good and taking his meds like a good boy. No vomiting or nausea so his pancreas seems to be settling down. He's weak but doesn't seem uncomfortable. This morning I thought I heard deer in the woods at the back of our property, and I let Warlock out...sure enough he set off the stranger danger alarm. A couple woofs and a proud prance along the fence-line and all is good. The weather here is amazing...cool nights, and daytime temps in the mid 70s. Warlock and I are going to enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and relax and heal. Please keep Warlock in your thoughts and prayers. Hugs to everyone.
  11. Lots of healing thoughts and prayers for Domino, and hugs to you. It is so nerve wracking when they're sick or having surgery...the mom in us wants to make them all better.
  12. Warlock has been discharged for now. He'll get to enjoy the wonderful fall weather we're having instead of being cooped up at the vet. He loves to lay on the porch and soak up the fresh air and sunshine. We're still waiting for the newest UA results and a Lymes test was sent out today. He's on a slew of meds and a prescription diet to basically treat all the organs that aren't working very good. I still haven't heard back from OSU with their thoughts. We're going to enjoy our moments. Thanks everyone for the prayers.
