The nights have been a lot brighter these past few days and Renie has magnified it. I will be thinking of her and when I look in the sky tonight walking my pups. I can't quite believe my bright 'young' thing is gone, but having so many of you grieve with me does help ... Too many of you know exactly what I'm going through. I wish it wasn't so, but it is. This is how we pay for the joy they bring while they're here on earth with us. Jack is doing fine. He's a little bewildered, and asking for more affection than usual, but he's a cheerful, philosophical sort of dog. He will be fine as an only. Just a short while ago we heard the first of the New Year fireworks. We no longer have to worry about those. Renie was terrified of them, but Jack is immune. If Renie had to leave us now, I'm glad she was spared the added stress of those tonight on top of everything else.
