Freddie Has A Tumor

in his stomach. Vet says the good news is that it is not "cloudy." DH is on his way to the surgeon's office to set up an appointment.

I'm so scared.

Oh Mary!! Tons of prayers and white light headed your way for sweet Freddie. Please keep us posted as you can. :hope :hope :hope :hope :hope

Somebody please tell me what the right anesthesia is for greyhounds. My mind is totally wiped out right now.

Mary I don't know the proper name of it. My vet has always told me anesthesia for a senior would be

correct for a greyhound. Freddie is both so hopefully the protocol will work for him. Someoone else has better information I am sure.

Mary, there will be an induction agent and then gas to maintain. The induction agents I'm familiar with are Valium/Ketamine, or Propofol; there are some others that are also safe for greyhounds. Gas is usually Isofluorane/Sevofluorane.

Sending prayers.

Sending prayers. Rather than tell the surgeon, ask if he does greyhounds and ask what he uses.

Isoflorane & sevoflorane is good and most vets use sevo for seniors.

Here is a thread with an article Dr. Feeman wrote re anesthesia:
