greysandmollie
Well I just coerced him to eat with some pasta and turkey. He wouldn't even get up to eat. I literally hand fed him. I am hoping that the long visit this afternoon in addition to him throwing up earlier is to blame. I did get him to take his new antibiotics. So hopefully going to help him feel better soon. gazehund
Donna I am so sorry Bounty Boon is not feeling well. Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers for some kind of answers to Bounty's problems. Not knowing what to do to help is the worst part for me and I have been there. Hang in there, you will figure this out!
greysandmollie
No real improvements with Bounty. There has been less peeing in the house but he is more lethargic than ever. Also he won't eat which is concerning with the antibiotics. Still coughing. We did send a TBD panel out but I am going crazy without any answers on that and the vet wants to wait until tomorrow before trying to get into get an ultrasound done. And I need a referral from him or I will never get into see the internist. Xan
Just seeing this, and worrying along with you. I don't have any advice (except maybe to find ANY way to get the pills down, so you can start fighting the infection), but am sending lots of hugs for you both. :bighug My Inspirations: Grey Pogo, borzoi Katie, Meep the cat, AND MY BELOVED DH!!!Missing Rowdy, Coco, Brilly, Happy and Wabi. greysandmollie
Also carafate for his stomach. Did the vet listen to his lungs? The vet poked, prodded and listened to all of him. His lungs sound good and there was something that the vet said he thought would be in his urine if it was the c word that wasn't so this is also good. He ate some baby food tonight and took his pills. I also saw him poop a tiny bit. So all that is good. I was just at the store and forgot to get the pepcid!!! Well I will run out and get some. I knew there was something else. I bought some very lean beef to cook up and turkey. I have never heard of this...carafate??? Batmom
Carafate is another stomach med which may work if the pepcid doesn't -- ask your vet about it if need be. I have usually had good luck with pepcid but sometimes you need bigger guns, KWIM? Hope he is feeling much better very soon!!!!!! greysandmollie
How is his hydration after this? I would think he needs fluids. Prayers for Bounty! He has been drinking tons but peeing tons too which is a good thing according to the vet. Today he has been able to not pee in the house which is awesome and I slept thru the night last night. He did pee but I didn't care. He hasn't puked anymore either which is making me very happy. But he is still coughing so I don't think we are out of the woods yet. My neighbor is the best..she has come over lots to let him out while I was at work. ZoomDoggy
I posted this in ABT, but seemed more apropos here... How's Bounty's appetite today? Didja know they make Lamb baby food? That was one of Sissy faves when she was sick. I found in her case that she preferred to eat from my fingers rather than lapping from a bowl like a philistine. She also actually liked vanilla Ensure too. Hope he's feeling better! Edited June 20, 2007 by ZoomDoggy ~Aimee, with Flower, Alan, Queenie, & Spodee Odee! greysandmollie
Aimee... And I responded there too! Not a good day unfortunately...Bounty puked with blood in it and peed last night. I contacted my vet this morning and didn't hear back so I am going to leave and take him to the ER vet here. They have all the equipment there but without a referral I will probably have to wait for a while. Hope he can handle it.
