  1. Any chance he got a bruise or blow higher up on the rib cage and a "blood puddle" has settled there?
  2. Vinny I think your mom may now have to change her user name here on GT. "FrostyBottoms" just doesn't seem right after all you've been through.
  3. Oh no. Thinking good thoughts for Marty.
  4. You're not a bad mommy at all. I hope Emma has a quick recovery and enjoys her new fluffy bed. A teaspoon of yogurt could help her tummy too after taking antibiotics.
  5. Did your vet exam Emma and do any tests? Could she have gotten into anything she shouldn't? Has she drunk any water from ponds or birdbaths? What other dog food brands did you try previously? Have long has she been on the current food? You'll probably get a lot of comments here on the Beneful as it is rather low on the quality status. I, personally, am not near any stores that sell the high-end foods and they would be out of m;y budget with 3 dogs. I have had very good success feeding my crew Iams Pro-Active Health in the small kibble. Firm poop all around. It's reasonably priced at Walmart. Regarding the bag you have, is there a phone number on it for consumer questions? Is that where you checked about any bad batches? Did this bag smell any different to you? Check Emma for dehydration. Hope she feels better soon.
  6. Maybe it was a trade? Yup. Somebody's got themselves a new shed. Or putting an addition onto their house.
  7. Gracie was on Clomicalm for 3 months for separation anxiety. The dose was gradually increased and just as gradually decreased. She had no side effects of any kind. It finally helped her relax enough to understand SA alone training. I hope it helps Shadow relax too and leave that leg alone.
  8. Uh oh. Give her bread. Watch for signs of distress, abdomen pain, fever.
  9. In the Health and Medical section here you can do a search for "happy tail" and learn much about protecting an injured tail. But most of all know that it can take a very long time to heal. Bandaging for just a few days usually doesn't work. Regarding cropping, I personally wouldn't do it unless your vet sees signs of an infection that aren't responding to antibiotics and wrapping.
  10. I am so sorry. Emmy, so very loved.
  11. Lori, is she on any kind of meds while you wait for results?
  12. Lori, that looks so similar to Gracie's eye infection from the feral cat. It took 2 rounds of amoxicillin and 2 bottles of ciprofloxiacin drops to clear it up.
  13. Capstar really does kill fleas within 30 minutes. I believe there are two sized doses, under 25 lbs. and over 25 lbs. Check the packaging label regarding age of dog/puppy.
  14. Well home visit are not important and the group I went throw are great they make you do all kinds of paper work no need to come to your home you give them four people you know they make all kinds of phone calls. Coming to some one home should not be a rule. Its just that some greyhound groups just like to have power. I owed 8 greyhounds at one time they all died from old age. I know have a new one but not to be able to get one because I lived to far away from all the groups so if they went to do home visit then they need to drive so tell me went they went from people. I drove 3 hours to get my dog and if I had to I would of went to fl to get one if the groups here wouldn't of gave me a dog. my greyhound group is great shame on your groups who do home visit but only went to drive so far. Power? I had no feeling of power when I suggested potential adopters move their indoor cactus collection out of reach. There are some things like loose fence posts, poisonous plants, holes in a backyard that could break a leg, that a potential adopter might see everyday but not think it could harm a dog. I've never gotten any angry response when I pointed something out.
  15. My 3 had a similar experience after drinking from a dirty birdbath. Vet treated them with Flagyl and something else. Gracie had to sped the whole day at the clinic to get re-hydrated. Within a 2 days all were back to normal....and I removed the birdbath.
  16. Did you check her feet to see if she had corns? If only they could tell us what was wrong.
  17. That Acepromazine could really have zonked her out. My vet never uses that. Can you check her temperature? Last year my 13 y.o. Oliver had a stroke immediately after we picked him up from a dental. Vet thought he was still dopey from meds but it was a stroke. He didn't make it. Please be vigilant and don't hesitate to call your vet.
  18. The human explanation of lens problem was a bit easier to understand than the canine sites.
  19. That just screams for a caption: "Can you hear me now?"
  20. Yes to the vet visit. This could be anything from an infection (tooth or salivary gland) to lymphoma. Make an appointment ASAP.
