  1. Photobucket used to work easily for me. When I tried to post this picture: (edited out, wouldn't load) I get this message: Sorry dynamic pages in the {IMG) tags are not allowed To copy this picture from Photobucket I am clicking on the last of 4 choices: "IMG code" Has something changed on Photobucket and/or what I am doing wrong now that I was doing right before? Editing to add I couldn't even post this query because of same message received above. I have now deleted that PB link because I couldn't get this page to load with it in there.
  2. Go now. three out of my 4 dogs got this at the same time. Not good. Vet was able to calm down the intestines and rehydrate them. Severe dehydration can cause other systems to shut down. We never knew what started this episode. They all recovered.
  3. Wally is getting a biopsy today. He has 2 skin lesions, one on his inner thigh, one on his rib cage. I don't like the sound my vet made when he looked at them. Today I just want him home. Keep your fingers crossed for my Wally. We won't know the results for several days. Editing to add I was trying to include a picture of Wally in his Superman cape but I can't get Photobucket to work right today and I'm too stressed to resize to the members gallery. Update 12/11/08 A message from Wally: Thank you friends and followers. The doctor says I am "B 9". According to mom that means next year I can "B 10". A message from Wally's mom: The biopsy results indicate benign vascular hamartomas. No treatment needed. Whew!
  4. Would it be any kind of a big deal to switch from Sentinel to Interceptor? While at the e-vet with a friend's dog we had time to talk meds. The vet suggested Interceptor since it is less expensive and periodically use Comfortis for flea control as needed. I'll be asking my regular about this soon but would like to hear your experiences/suggestions.
  5. Does it look like this? Gracie has had this histiocytoma for years. It comes and goes. Doesn't need treatment. Still worth having your vet check Sam's "strawberry."

    Sandi

There's one more at the Bridge today, one more star in the heavens. Sandi lost her battle with intestinal lymphoma. Barb (mom) has always been there for fellow greyhound lovers. Say a little prayer for her heart to heal. "> Rapid Sandi Blue
  7. Uh oh, that looks like what Wally has. He's scheduled Monday to have it removed. It's on the side of his rib cage. The pimple kind - do they bleed a lot if you pick at them? Bad mommy here has picked at 2 tiny spots that bleed profusely.
  8. Oh my, Monty! Karen, years ago our first mutt girl, Rosie, had a fast growing lipoma in that same location. While usually you can ignore a lipoma, this one was found to have grown a "tail". It wasn't cancerous but could have gotten to be a size that crowded that abdomen.

    Coping

I re-read your medical posts on Joe and I wouldn't have done anything differently. We only dishonor them if we forget them with callousness and casualness. Joe was very obviously a much loved family member. I've always thought that each day of heartbreak I felt at the loss of one of my greys was equal to them enjoying being at the Bridge being pain free more and more...
  10. Seconding the request for Pave' Polyethylene Poop Pictures please.
  11. Fingers crossed for a good report on Alan................
  12. Hokiebuck, I saw that info as well. But I also found this online: To follow is Dr. Jean Dodds' latest vaccination protocol About Vaccination Protocols It's great to share helpful information that might benefit our animal companions. However, sometimes the information may not be accurate and can create problems later on. That turns out to be the case with the "New Vaccination Protocols" post which continues to be widely circulated. From experience, I find it best to verify important information prior to sending it on to others. FYI, regarding that ‘vaccine protocol’ which is excerpted below– please be advised that it is NOT Dr. Jean Dodds’ " ... I would like to make you aware that all 27 veterinary schools in North America are in the process of changing their protocols for Vaccinating dogs and cats. Some of this information will present an ethical & economic challenge to Vets, and there will be skeptics. Some organizations have come up with a political compromise suggesting vaccinations every 3 years to appease those who fear loss of income vs. those concerned about potential side effects. Politics, traditions, or the doctors economic well-being should not be a factor in a medical decision..." To follow is her reply to me regarding what is being circulated via the internet (again). She has since asked me to assist with this unfortunate situation and that's why I'm asking that this post be forwarded -- to let everyone know that the other post contains false information: “Dear Helen: No , … This is the broadcast message sent around the world, or so it seems, LAST YEAR. It is not from me. I even got an e-mail from the AVMA last year asking where I got my information and data from ! Jean” The enitre posting can be read here: Dr Dodd's protocol How do we know what the real deal is?
  13. We suspect a case of gastroenteritis that hit all of our dogs last year started because they liked to drink out of the birdbath.
  14. A friend's greyhound has been diagnosed via biopsy to have lymphoma in her abdomen. Sandi, age 10, had the HGE symptoms of vomiting and bloody diarrhea. An ultrasound showed a mass in the abdomen. She lost 12 lbs. in one week. My friend was out of town caring for a relative. She has returned home and is catching up on what happened. She will be discussing treatment options with her vet. She does not have the details yet of exactly where in the abdomen the lymphoma was found. She doesn't know how many affected lymph nodes were found. Since being on prednisone Sandi has regained her appetite. What experience have you had with lymphoma in the abdomen? Did you opt for surgery only? Did you opt for chemotherapy? Did you opt for pain management only? With any or no treatment, how much longer did your dog live? I have provided contact info for Dr Couto to my friend.
