Stella is almost 12 now and my vet has started rotating her vaccines, instead of giving them annually she will do it every 2 to 3 years now. Our City bylaw does require an annual rabies vaccine, my vet thinks this is BS since the same vaccine is good for 3 years in the US, so she gives me a certificate saying Stella is under a vet's routine care and is protected from rabies.

Just went through this with Stella, she had a black 'growth' on her side, came out of nowhere it seemed. I made a vet appt and of course the night before our appt she scratched it off. I took her anyway and vet looked at the bald patch where it used to be and said no worries, probably a hemioscomething er other. She also had one on her face and did the same thing, scratched it off, apparently a DIY comsmetic surgery kind of girl, and it came back. twice. My vet said a lump under the skin is more something to be worried about than a lump on the skin, if that makes any sense to you.

Stella had one for the last two weeks, of course the night before her vet appt she scratches it completely off. Vet took a look at the bald patch where it used to be and said not to worry about it, no big deal. She has also had one on the side of her face that she scratched off (apparently my girl is a fan of do it yourself cosmetic procedures) and it came back, twice.

Stellys in for her dental right now. Last year she lost 6 and the year before that she lost 6, I see a trend here.

Hi Sheila, good to cyber see you but wish it were under better circumstances I don't have any knowledge advice to share, Stella goes in on Friday and will be losing several teeth, not sure how many yet, it was 6 each of the last two years. Poor gummy pups.

Stella goes for hers next week, on the 29th We always moisten anyway because otherwise she hoovers it and then gaks it all back on the floor. When we add water we don't have this problem.

Aww Trudy, that is rough, it is always hard when they are sick but when you don't know what you are dealing with it adds that extra level of anxiety. Hugs for you and Ryan

Seeing this thread again made me sad, only because I know several of the people who posted in the first round have since lost their beloved babes, just shows us that things change in the blink of an eye, but despite it all we are so blessed and lucky to have them for as long as we do. Sorry to go on a tangent!

Pat I just now saw this, I am so sorry. You know I believe with all my heart that it is just 'see you later' and I just know that her regalness is compiling quite a list of demands for you for when that far off 'later' arrives. In the meantime I bet she has no shortage of loyal subjects.
