  1. Yikes! This poor guy cannot catch a break. Well, hopefully it's time that he does--no tumor! Sending lots of prayers.
  2. So young Sending my sympathy. Run like the wind Kane
  3. How old is she? Have you talked with a certified chiropractor and acupuncture vet?
  4. The only time Burp went in the house is when he was on pred. Happened just like you said. If he didn't get out asap, he would just start peeing. Then he would look at me and glare until I cleaned it up..... It won't hurt to take a urine sample in to see if there is any bacteria in it.
  5. Please do not feel guilty. Once it has spread to the lungs, it kind of makes the decision for you. I understand about not happening at all Been there.
  6. With carafate and pepcid, etc, they should be given at least 2 hours from the antibiotic. I try to give the carafate mid day, between the two doses of atb. If you are giving the metacam, it can upset the stomach like any other NSAID. Unless he needs it, I wouldn't give it. Tramadol can possibly do the same.
  7. TLMs boy lived a very long time without. How old is she?
  8. July 27, 2009 Good Morning Diane, After a MONTH in the basement, we are now officially back on the main level. Winslow's toe is healed and I started moving us on Saturday. This morning we moved the big bed. He dashed up the stairs like a champ (We have been keeping that hind leg exercised by running up hills in the neighborhood). After a good look around to make sure everything was the same, Winslow was off to spend quality time with his beloved sofa. (see photo). He still wants a pony, but has settled for a daily viewing on youtube. He has commandeered my little computer for his own use. After all the snot and slobber, I don't really want it back anyway. Next week, swimming. HOORAY! Meanwhile, the Lyme treatment seems to be going fine. No big D and no belly upset from the meds.. Lots of probiotics and pepcid. Finally, things are looking up around here. G.
  9. I am sorry to hear You & he fought a good fight. Sending my sympathy. I know how much he means to you.

  11. You need to know what kind so you can ask for a change if she doesn't settle in. Try the pepcid or zantac. Boiled meat or rotisserre chicken. Try potatoes instead of rice. Canned EVO.
  12. I hope to get the video of Pablo to post He is only doing 7 minutes! He also has to have someone in with him. It's great that he is in there alone! The corn: you can pop it out with your fingernail if he'll let you.
  13. Poor guy! I assume it would be short term and I would have opted for pred which reduces inflammation (but you cannot give rimadyl and pred together). Assume you had follow up blood work if you are keeping him on rimadyl? This would be a very hard choice. Have you tried EVO or raw for him? If the diet doesn't do anything for him, I'd have to go with deaf as hard as that is than keep him in pain. I think.....
  14. Try the other acupuncture vet. We got Austin in good shape even though we "knew" he was harboring cancer somewhere and acupuncture bought him 8 good months. The other thing we did with Austin was put him on pred which you cannot do if you are giving metacam. Helped with arthritis and appetite. Can you get frozen BilJac there? Have you tried EVO canned and EVO kibble?
  15. No, neither is whip worm
  16. When is she going to the vet? Sending prayers.
  17. Never heard of it, so I went & looked it up Wedgewood Pharmacy apparently it has been around awhile: Veterinary Partner Pet Place More Info Treatment is mentioned for lupus although not often.
  18. Could be the dead bird Flagyl can upset the stomach. Good thing re going to the vet. If he/she wants her on flagyl, get some stomach meds like carafate and ask about pepcid or zantac (dose to give). Wouldn't hurt to worm her even though she's been on Interceptor with panacur.
  19. Did they culture the urine? Sounds to me like she is not on the correct antibiotic and/or not long enough. You can get crystals from a urine specimen that has sat too long to be tested. Did they do a bladder tap or was this a free catch?
  20. I've found with the generic, you do need a higher dose. Unless my dog was half dead, I would not use 1.0 twice a day and even then I'd have to think about it With the ones I've had to have on thyroid meds, I've never had to go over .5 twice a day. It takes a minimum of 6 weeks to see results and be stable enough to retest. I usually wait 3 months for the first test if the dogs are acting ok and responding appropriately.
  21. Yes it is and it does not work as well as the brand Soloxine in dobes or greys. If you do have to supplement, Omaha Vaccine has a very good price on Soloxine
  22. Way too high to start and I would use the brand soloxine. Usual start dose is .5 twice a day. What did Michigan State say in their interpretation.
