They do get bones in many kennels and they don't have to share (and they are never taken away while the dog in in his crate). In spite of that, they still sometimes "fuss" at their neighbor. The kennel is very noisy - with lots of chewing and an occasional "grump". When they get home, the rules they have known go out the window - as you say.

Dogs don't "punish". It sounds like she has separation anxiety.

I was there (at The Woodlands) when that first adoption picture was taken. Spencer (Lazer at the time) was a very special boy, loved by many but especially his trainer Chris. You gave him a wonderful home and I wish your time together could have been longer. It's never long enough. Godspeed Spencer.

I'm so sorry, Jey. Godspeed.

Chiropractic treatments along with medication can be a huge help with treating LS.
-
Don't forget to check for LS too. That can be a source of incontinence.

Couldn't agree more!

Advantage works best for fleas - Frontline for ticks.

Robin, in addition to the acupuncture you might want to investigate chiropractic treatments - they have been very successful in helping LS. Ask Shelley Lake about it on Facebook - her boy Felter has LS. -

It's so difficult to make that final decision but foremost my decision has always considered quality of life. "I know she is suffering" -

I went with AVCA certified chiropractor who was also a DVM, and teacher at the chiropractice college here. Can't get better credentials than that, right? Rex went either twice before I decided I was not going to let that man hurt him anymore. He'd scram out, lash and try to bite until they muzzled my totally horizontal lad back dog. It was horrifying. I told my vet about it and he quietly tsk tsked and remainded me that he had suggested acupuncture because it had a much better clinical track record. Then we went with the depo shot which worked wonders. We have found a Chiropractor and Acupuncturist, who specializes in Holistic medicine. Certified by both organizations. If we don't try this, it is pills or surgery neither is appealing.. I am willing to try anything.. If she doesn't help and hurts we be gone in a minute., Thanks There are several methods of applying chiropractic adjustments. The first chiro doctor in KC that Survey went to used a more aggressive method than the doctor she sees now. The adjustments are done very quickly and I know with Survey it was more anticipation than pain. Survey hardly seems to notice the adjustments by the current doctor. It sounds like you have made a good choice based on the certifications by both organizations. -
Changed Dog Food, Now Dry, Itchy Skin!

If she is really allergic to flea bites it only takes a few fleas to cause a lot of discomfort. This fall has also been pretty bad for grass/ragweed allergies which would also cause itching and biting. If you guys have had a frost this week the grass allergies should go away soon. -

Another simple solution is to melt a small pat of butter (real butter) over her food. -

I had never believed in chiropractic care either - for me or for dogs. Well, about a year ago Survey started having episodes where she would lose the use of her legs on her left side and had pain when raising her head when she had been laying down. The vet prescribed prednisone and it worked only until the dosage was reduced. A friend (who is a vet) recommended chiropractic care from a Chiropractic Doctor who is certified for animal care. Quite simply - it works! Survey has been symptom and pain free since July and her back continues to improve with every adjustment. At the beginning she was seen at 2 or 3 week intervals and now we have increased the time between adjustments to 5-6 weeks. There are many greyhounds with LS who are helped by this treatment. I wish I had known that 3 years ago when my boy Alpo was diagnosed with LS.
