  1. Looks like allergies to me too, but I have never personally delt with mange, so I don't really know what it looks like.
  2. Glad Hester is feeling better today! If your vet didn't warn you, give him plenty of time to recover. He will want to start running around as soon as he starts feeling better, but keep him quiet for a few weeks if you can. I speak with the voice of experience if you listen to them (really, I feel great, I'm fine) he will just reinjure himself and it will take even longer!
  3. He does look a little heavy to me, maybe 5 lbs or so. Fletcher was a big tall boy who weighed 90 lbs, you could clearly see his last three ribs. He obviously gets plenty of exercise, maybe cut back on the treats a bit?
  4. It shouldn't upset him unless he is sensitive to turkey. While most dogs take to turkey necks with great enthusiasm, a few aren't too sure at first. If he just looks at you like "what am I supposed to do with that?" you may need to lightly sear the outside, just to make the smell stronger. I wouldn't give chicken necks, they are too small and most greys just gulp them down with little or no chewing Most likely he will be thrilled!
  5. hoping for an uneventful surgery and an easy recovery!
  6. Twenty days seems excessive to me, but I would be more concerned about his attitude and lack of knowledge about greyhounds! Hope Chloe is OK
  7. I generally go with the one year rule for pills, but for other forms, especially liquids, I would probably go by the date on the bottle.
  8. What Truman did is so sweet! I am so glad to hear Henry is doing so well
  9. What a pretty girl! Congratulations
  10. I am so sorry. Sadly I know what you are going through, I lost Fletcher in June, and while Molly is still here, she has cancer and I won't have her much longer.
  11. I have been breaking Sallie's into pieces because she has so few teeth and I got tired of watching her try to gum it to death, but she still gulps the pieces down. I don't know how you would encourage a dog to chew little pieces if they didn't want to, and no o_rooly, I am not pre-chewing for them
  12. Wonderful update, I hope the rest of his recovery goes as well as this first part has gone!
  13. Our weather has been weird lately, that's for sure. I haven't noticed anything with the dogs, but I have a cat with chronic respiratory issues that have gotten much worse in the last couple of weeks. I would try a benedryl and see if that helps.
  14. You have a great attitude and I am convinced that makes a huge difference! Prayers for Henry tomorrow, I hope he is one of the miracle ones!
  15. Thank you for the explanation, that is very helpful!
  16. I am so sorry, Lucas sounds like he was a special boy
