  1. Wonder if Gelsey has had a health/physical or age change that Milo is picking up on and thinking time to change the dynamics of the home.
  2. Glad you are feeling better after all that sleepy juice and a good report. You look so cute on your double stacked beds. Journey agrees all beds should be double stacked for comfort.
  3. I use the Frogg Toggs chilli towels just add water and they cool down. Use them like a bandanna around the neck and down the chest between the legs. As long as you add water and shake they keep cool. I also have a kids wading pool with water in July/August for them. We are cooler than AZ so the water does not get to hot in the shade. Mostly play in the yard early am or get taken to pet stores for AC walks.
  4. Sorry Sox is having liquid diarrhea it is no fun and stressful for all. Glad she is going in for test to get to the root of the cause. Journey came to me with hookworms and she would have liquid diarrhea on a kind of schedule must of been during a certain life stage and would range from liquid to slimy to pudding. She would also lose her appetite during this time. She was on different medication for the hookworms what finally got them under control was Simparica trio. I had really good results with giving her buttermilk it enticed her to eat and also firmed up her stools.
  5. Journey finally got three negatives in a row in February. Was a long trek just thankful we reached this milestone. The Simparica Trio was the game changer for us. Hang in there Doolin and Willa and anyone else with the unwanted guest it eventually gets better. Took us from August 2020 till Feb 2023 to get three negatives in a row.
  6. Sending hugs for you, Annie, and family. Comfort and spoil her
  7. Do you think it is warmer under the yellow, pink than here? I think we could be there before they get to the car!
  8. Welcome to you and your new hound, there is lots of good information for you to look up on GT. My greyhound does not like her toes trimmed, they were trimmed on the couch once she will not get back on it for nothing. Be sure to be well rested before you bring your greyhound home and if you can arrange it be able to sleep in if you need it the next day. Just remember that this could be the first time your greyhound will be separated from other greyhound. It is a big adjustment with time and patience you will find a good routine there just may be some bumps in the road. There are also things that you can do to help get over/manage sleep startle in some dogs too. Search sleep startle for some ideas if you need them. Post pictures and ask questions
  9. So true The unmistakable sounds that jolt you wide awake and reach for the lights.
  10. So very true When Journey first arrived she did GSOD if I looked at her toes or went to touch them. Years later not a peep when she broke her toe right before her nail twice. Silly girl all that drama to see if she can get her way.
  11. congratulations and welcome. You could give her a Benadryl for the itching. Where did she come from wondering if it could be a change in weather if she came from a different clement and or allergies if you are somewhere warm. Or if just being in a home in the dry winter air? You could give her a bath in an aloe shampoo too.
  12. How much add in food is he getting? I do not do add in foods to meals, but when training and using treats heavily for new behaviors I do cut back by 1/8-1/2 cup of food if needed. This is dry food for protein and is close to 1:1. Not sure how much dry food (protein mix) for straight carbs. Just have to experiment based on body condition.
  13. I got Journey in August 2020 she came with hookworms it has been a long up and down struggle but we finally made it Three negative test in a row. Now if she can just stop breaking her toe she could do zoomies in the yard. I should of bought a lottery ticket definitely our lucky day!
  14. Lol I made the mistake of doing toes on the 🛋 that was all it took.
  15. Chaipurr the cat agrees. She has me well trained if she is sitting on me I must stay except to take care of Journey. Or I get the stink eye.
  16. I had a dog that would carry a mouth full and bring it to the rug under the dining table to chew it as I ate dinner. Behaviorist said it was a good sign of her bonding and showing respect. She was a street dog with lots of issues I miss her naughty issues. Have you tried moving the dish and everything that goes with it. To see if he will eat it there with less mess?
  17. Agree with ramonaghan you can register her with NGA. I would think you might get her back quicker with a chip as most places have access to them and it just takes a phone call. Most people who find dogs take them in to get scanned. Not sure if the average person who finds a loose dog would think to check with the NGA. Just my thoughts mine have always had both and thankfully never had to test the system.
  18. So glad it is up to -2 and wind chill -28 such a sad thing to say but warmest in a few days. We all have greyt dogs. Journey has been such a good girl goes out without any protest does her business. So to say thank you to her she gets treats when she comes in. Breakfast first this she usually just gets dinner, chew stick midday, cookies for the rest. Just the fact she makes it off the deck and into the potty run is huge. I know if the tables were turned i would be doing good to go on the cold side of the door. May we all have a warmer Holiday Season than this last week. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. Snuggle and spoil our wonderful four or three legged fur family members and the ones we love.
  19. Glad they are/have figured things out. You will have so much fun together enjoy them.
  20. You are welcome, if you have more questions just ask. Have a wonderful holiday and New Year.
