  1. I am so sorry for your sudden loss. Rest well, Dylan; you were obviously loved very much.
  2. I'm so sorry for all you're going through. Rest well, Nadir.
  3. Oh, my heart breaks for you. Cats are unbelievably good at hiding illness; I lost one to kidney disease and he was so stoic through the very end. Take care of yourself and do keep in mind what a good life you gave them all. Rest well, Cubby, and the ones who left before you.
  4. I tried the Furminator that I use for my cats on Sweep when we'd had her about a month, and she gave me a nice black eye for my efforts. I don't think she meant to get me; I must have hit a tender spot, she reacted, and I got muzzle-punched/grazed by her tooth in the process. In my opinion, it's too much for their thin skin and bony bits, so I stick with the zoom groom, which she seems to view like a massage. And, yes, she is currently a sheddy mess, even with daily Missing Link and coconut oil. Thank God for my Roomba!
  5. So very sorry for your loss. Rest well, Joey.
  6. That was our experience with Sweep. We're more than a year in now, and she's never given us any trouble. Sometimes you just luck out!* *and that's how they hook you.
  7. So sorry for your loss. Rest well, beautiful girl.
  8. Gorgeous girl. Rest well, Sequoia.
  9. Beautiful girl, and looks like she's full of personality to boot! Welcome from a Tennessean—what part of the state are you moving to?
  10. Good update and for your sweet, smiley boy with some of the best earsies ever.
  11. I am so sorry; my heart breaks for you. Sending prayers and good thoughts to you and Joey.
  12. So sorry for your loss. What a beautiful tribute to Pawn. Rest well, beautiful.
  13. Welcome, and congrats! He is so handsome, and I love the name Copper. (The Fox and the Hound was one of my favorites as a kid.) Sounds like you are doing all the necessary prepwork and research. Now it's just a matter of discovering your hound's personality and giving him time to blossom in a home. It's great that you are being proactive with your boys too and helping them understand that the new dog will need some space as he adjusts. That said, try not to worry too much beforehand; a lot of the things I was anxious about never came to pass with my girl, who's been almost perfect from day one. (I'm convinced that's part of adoption groups' master plan to get us all hooked on the breed. )
  14. So sorry for your losses. Rest well, Walter.
  15. I do some combination of kibble, soft treats, FreshPet wet food, natural PB, natural applesauce, cottage cheese, cream cheese, mashed banana, and honey and freeze it overnight. I try to change it up daily so Sweep doesn't get bored, but those are the basic ingredients I use. This site is a good resource for recipes.
  16. Checking for an update and sending good thoughts to you and Truman!
  17. Second the waterless shampoo/grooming foam. I love Earthbath, which you can get at Petsmart, Amazon, or sometimes TJ Maxx. Green Tea is a nice, mild scent. Or you can mix a cup of baking soda (and a cup of cornstarch if you have it) with a few drops of lavender oil, massage it in, let sit for a few minutes, and brush it out with a ZoomGroom or similar. Works well but obviously can get messy, so spread plenty of newspapers or towels first.
  18. Congrats! He is gorgeous and so wee! And I am dying over his racing name. Keep that hound off Twitter!
