  1. Hello!!!! I would love get my Pepper socialized with other greys. We took her to a function at NGAP where we adopted her. She was quite frightened. At the dog park she doesn't take to other dogs, tail between the leg. Would be great to meet up one day Hello, you are very close to me. Would love to get my Pepper together with other greys! There's a greyhound walk in Veteran's Park (Hamilton, NJ) every Sunday at 11. Any hound from any group is welcome, and they all seem to enjoy it. We're planning to meet through the winter as long as the weather is decent. A couple of the folks who come have smaller dogs, but it's worked well so far. Even my crazy Brees has figured out that the little dogs are not for eating! Linky We also go up to New Hope and Lambertville a lot in warmer weather. Riverhorse brewery allows dogs in the tasting room, so that's a good trip for socialization. Triumph and Bitter Bob's in New Hope have dog-friendly patios and excellent food. We'd be happy to plan a get-together in the Spring. (A bunch of GTers met at Triumph in early fall and had a blast!) My e-mail address is in my profile. Feel free to use it.
  2. We play bitey-everything with Brees. She only does it with us right now, but I would probably do it with my father if he encouraged it. She's shy with strangers, so no worries there. With us, she's very gentle in a crazy kind of way. Lots of snapping and gnashing of teeth, funny noises and excitement. No contact unless we initiate it. If I grab her mouth, she'll gum me. Now, if hubby and I are play-fighting, she thinks nothing of biting me on the butt! I don't know what the difference is to her, but she seems to think a nip is okay then. Brees is insane, but very cute!
  3. That picture of her is fantastic. Just full of joy!
  4. Ow! Poor JJ. I would've flipped out and run to the vet -- but we go to the vet for every single ouchie. You're brave for keeping your head on straight!
  5. The water indicator was tripped so it's unlikely they would take it back... BUT, this is a work provided phone so I'll have a replacement in the morn. Spoiled!
  6. I had a phone, not a smart phone, go dead for over a month before it decided to work again. The camera still isn't happy, but it's fine other than that. Quit trying to charge the thing, and let it sit for a week. (But chances are, if you take it to an Apple store they'll replace it. Hubby smashed his, and they just handed him a new one. No protection plan, either!)
  7. I don't know anything about doggy food allergies, but want to agree with Pam that not all dogs like to eat in the morning. My Joe is one of them -- he won't touch kibble, and usually isn't interested in milk bones. He'll always help me with my breakfast, though!
  8. *cough* Iams in the green bag *cough*
  9. Happy Gotcha Day over the rainbow, Kevin!
  10. I don't have any advice to give. Just wanted to say that, Damn!, those critters have been up to no good lately.
  11. She's a really pretty girl! If she's found your bed, I think she's settling in nicely. My Joe is a Flying Penske son (one of a jillion!), and is just the best dog ever. Goofy & sweet. I think you have a winner!
  12. Thanks for posting that; it's pretty amazing to see that little doxie before and after!
  13. There's always someone wrong with one of my dogs. Brees ran into a bush right before Dewey. Stitches. She got a cat the day after the hurricane. Staples and an abscess. Joe now has a corneal ulcer -- but he timed it well. I was able to take him in for the recheck and get Brees's staples out in one visit! And there's often a cut toe or gimpy leg to worry over, just so I don't get bored I guess!
