  1. Ah, no. I'm so sorry! :f_pink :f_pink
  2. I also feed Iams, and get more poop than I'd like to have to deal with, but they seem happy and healthy. Joe's a little thin, but he's always been inclined to be skinny. Brees is at a nice weight. If you know that more Iams is bad for them, maybe modify Deirdre's suggestion and toss them a chicken quarter once in a while if their systems can handle it.
  3. Brees pulls; it's horrible. I bought one of the Wiggles Wags and Whiskers freedom harnesses for her, and it's like a dream for the pulling. I don't like the way it fits behind her front legs, though. It took her a few walks to adjust to it. No chafing, because of the velvet lining, but it just looks uncomfortable. I'm wondering if a talented person could add a martingale-type control loop to Iker's harness that would make is work like the WWW harness, but still be safe for him. Brees in her harness. My arms really love it!
  4. Brees stamps her feet like a three-year-old when she wants something and isn't getting it quickly enough. Food, attention, toy -- she just throws tantrums whenever she's frustrated.
  5. We prop the giant cardboard box the crate came in against the stairs. Matches the rest of our decor perfectly!
  6. My two are free fed with no overeating and no food guarding issues. They guard chews, toys, and beds from each other, but never food. They're wacky!
  7. Glad she's doing well! Wonderful, wonderful news that there's no cancer.
  8. I like the Iams, or rather, the dogs do. Just be warned that while the poo is nice, it also tends to be rather copious. An extra "out" might be needed.
  9. Not the same situation -- not at all, but when we brought home our second GH, our first hound's personality changed in ways we really didn't like. We're working through it, sort of the way you're starting to, with lots of time when it's just him and one of us, special treats, new toys, and extra (short) training sessions. We also try to give him time and space when she's not around; in my hubby's office in the mornings, in the bedroom with me at night (I crash early), and in the living room with us both (other dog gets crated). It's working well, and he's getting over the crankiness/upsetness/confusion he was going through six months ago. It's not perfect, but he's happy more often than not now. It's pretty amazing what some ice cream or a burger does for his mood, too! Good luck to you and Rajah.
  10. Oh, no. I'm terribly sorry. It's horrendous that you're going through this again so soon.
  11. Nothing. Nothing else is allowed to happen. We got all the bad $&*^ and everyone else will be ok. And my two are fine today. Bwat is the one who really got screwed. And your wallet.
  12. Poison control said they might barf, but not to worry about it overly much. Said it's not a bad brand for them to have eaten. Joe is conked out; Brees is chewing on a toy. I just popped a beer. Hubby will be home from work in 10 minutes. He's the designated driver tonight. Really pleased with Home Again. Didn't know that having the chip did more than help get them home if they get lost.
  13. On the phone with animal poison control. Home Again coverss the $65 fee. Nifty! I saw that, but I figure we can eat avocado, dark chocolate, craptons of grapes and chew a pack of sugar free gum with no problems. I think they're fine, but freaking out anyway. That's what I do.
  14. Dumb, dumb, dumb. I left a cooler in the kitchen with a food-smelling ice pack (Polar Pack is the brand) in it. Went to the bathroom. Small hole in in the ice pack, and glop spread around. I think they ate some, but don't think they got much. It's labeled non-toxic, but I'm assuming that's non-toxic to people and not necessarily dogs. Dumb. 15. I love Trupanion. It'd probably be expensive for Opal, but Emma and Tanzanite wouldn't be too horrible.
