  1. Happy Birthday Pal.That was a lovely video.
  2. I assume urinary infections, bladder infections, etc. have been ruled out?
  3. I lied. Xavi didn't eat a pan of brownies. He ate 1.5 lbs. of brownie bites.
  4. I understand he is fine and is back to hogging beds and being super cuddly. I won't be seeing them until tonight.
  5. I have been in this situation. With work, it did become a match made in heaven. I kept Loca (the offending hound) attached to my waist by a very long leash whenever I was home. I praised her every time she ignored said cat and corrected her when she showed too much interest (although I understand correcting isn't used much anymore). I was able to be consistent since she was never out of sight. She has a very strong prey drive and it took about two months, but it worked. They become best friends. I crated Loca when I wasn't home. She hated it but I needed to protect my cat. Eventually I was able to put the crate away and all was fine. Good luck and don't give up!
  6. God luck, ok? GT's Maximum has had experience with a dental specialist in Guelph. Maybe she can give you contact info. Regardless, I wish you and your girlie luck and rapid healing.
  7. That's funny! All is well. Mark slept on the floor with Xavi last night (he is such a sweetheart) and the ribs stopped. They are going to try crating him when they aren't home, which will be good for their piece of mind. And it only cost $475! I was expecting at least $1000!
  8. We're hoping that the morphine will slow him down but at the same time hoping that he doesn't develop a habit Just got a text saying that the birdseed is now coming out the back end and that he's drooling a lot. Poor baby
  9. My friends are looking after Iker and Xavi while I am out of town. Got a phone call after my flight landed saying that Xavi managed to eat a sheet of chocolate brownies and one of those compressed bird seed bells that were on top of their fridge...while muzzled. Since his belly was bloated they were taking him to the evet, which is good. They took X-rays to rule out bloat (negative) then gave him several shots of morph one to induce vomiting. Mostly birdseed came up with very little chocolate. It took two shots to get him to vomit, which he probably did on purpose; after all it's morphine he will also receive charcoal and anti nausea drugs. He is still there but will be fine.
  10. Thank you, Neighsayer. This is so important. You know your dog. We don't. I stayed away from the osteo club because of some strong opinions. Do whatever you think is best for all of you and do not feel guilty.
  11. I'm so sorry. I've been through this three times. I left all three go very soon after diagnosis, with being sent to the bridge at diagnosis. You'll see many opinions here, but I believe that if they are limping, they are already in a great deal of pain. I didn't want that for any of then.
  12. Both of my galgos love kids. Even the traumatized one likes to hang out with my friend's very active kids who range in age from 3 - 7. They cuddle with them at night (they stay with the family when i am out of town) and just like to be around them.
  13. Great update! A dog down the street had both eyes removed for the same reason. You would never know (she has fake eyes)
  14. I'm so glad Lola is doing better. She is very pretty. Every time I lose a dog, I try to be a one dog household. It usually last for a year, then it give in and adopt a second one, claiming it is for the remaining dog, when it is really for me.
  15. Lorinda, I am so very sad to read this. Please accept my deepest sympathy. We will miss her.
