  1. I am so sorry you are going thru this!! You're right.......it's just too much, too soon. If anyone knows what you're going thru, it's Lorinda (3DogNite). She was invaluable with her knowledge and support when Suze was dx'd with glomerulonephritis, not related except in palliative care/treatment. I truly believe that we would not have another 18 months with Suze without the alternative treatments she recommended. Reiki and acupuncture are wonderful complimentary treatments, too. Praying for you and Nadir.
  2. Gosh, I am so sorry! Such a beautiful girl inside and out.
  3. I can almost hear your heart breaking reading your words. I am so sorry for your loss! She was beautiful.
  4. She's as close as the thought of her crossing your mind. She was beautiful.
  5. Why are potentially toxic products still available? Money/profit/corporate greed. When will the products be removed? When we realize "cheap" now isn't cheap in the long run.
  6. I have no personal experience with seizures or the meds, but others I know have had good results with Denamarin for liver support.
  7. I think her gur was the first one on GT that I followed. Godspeed, Sahara. Tina, I am so sorry for your loss.
  8. I am so sorry. Corey sounds like the type of dog who would join in just for the sheer joy of being with people and dogs he loved. Godspeed Corey.
  9. My insecure, fearful, follower of her alpha-dog sister seemed to know that her diva self needed to be put on hold when her sister got sick. She was a real trooper for a year and a half right to the end; way beyond what I expected. After a period of mourning, she is back to being mamma's girl - my funny, demanding, sweet, fearful, not-as-secure-as-I-would-like girlie-girl. The important thing is to satisfy the things that are key to the non-sick dog, be it food, belly rubs, treats, walks, play, etc. It doesn't have to be "equal", just satisfying.
  10. You loved him, he loved you and it showed. It just doesn't get any better than that. I am so sorry for your loss.
  11. Praying for Minerva. Tests should have been done in-house. Does your Vet have ultrasound? Could have done a sterile draw from the bladder to start a culture. Hope it's just a UTI.
  12. I am so sorry! I pray that you get at least as many good days as we had with angel Nikki. Prednisone gave us 90 days despite lymphosarcoma................and 83 of those days were really good days.
  13. So young, too soon, so very beautiful. Thank you for sharing her photos. The pictures and your words show that Heidi was home, safe and loved her people. I am so sorry for your loss.
  14. What a boy! You just never know. Reminds me of my Dad's A-fib. He went for monthly checkups complete with EKG after experiencing a TIA with A-fib and not once in 12 months was there any evidence of recurrence. I took him to another cardiologist and it was evident from the start. Praying that Legs remains stable and the meds do everything they are meant to do.
  15. I am so sorry it was Fletcher's time to go. It's just never long enough.
  16. Bumping for an update. How's Legs? Has he worn the monitor yet?
  17. I changed my "bug magnet's" diet and incorporated a homemade spray (4 oz of distilled water and one drop of therapeutic grade essential oils - about 6 different oils) and she can walk outside without attracting a cloud of mosquitoes. As long as I spray top and bottom from the ears back just as we walk out the door, she is bug free for the 35 to 45 minutes we stroll the neighborhood. That's saying a lot here in Florida!
  18. I tried all of these products on a sick dog who insisted on laying on ceramic tile all the time but had a difficult time getting up and down. Unfortunately nothing worked. In my quest to find a solution, I read that professional handlers of show dogs have been known to spray the pads with a sugary beverage/water combination. The idea is, if you can get the sprayed surface to dry before the dog gets up, the result is a tacky residue. Again, it's a very short term solution. A friend has a 13 year old Greyhound who is showing his age, and is currently wearing toddler socks with the non-slip rubber dots on the bottoms. She swears by them because they are easier to put on than the dog version and the grippers seem to be more effective. p.s. Taylor was upright and you didn't get a photo??? Love that boy and hope that he suffered no long term effects from his mishap.
