  1. Ouch! Hope pain meds, hugs and ice cream help ease his discomfort - and yours!
  2. Yes, yes, and YES to the above! Adding to that is trying too many "treatments" at one time and not allowing enough time for the treatment to work. While we can all relate to wanting diarrhea to stop and stop now, identifying the true cause and finding (or stumbling upon) a treatment that works usually takes time.
  3. I am so sorry for your loss. Godspeed, Manero.
  4. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that in time, the good memories will help heal the rough edges of your heart.
  5. Happy birthday, Frisby! Send your mum kisses on the wind.
  6. I am so sorry for your loss. Godspeed, Silver.
  7. It's a special thing.................when a dog chooses you. Lovely tribute. Godspeed, Casey.
  8. Welcome, congratulations and you're in for years of love and adventures! If you look closely at my avatar, you might think you're looking at black sisters and you would be right! From our house to yours - siblings rock!
  9. Everyone who saw the photos of her doing zoomies in your yard know that she had the BEST last few weeks! It just breaks my heart that it didn't last longer - for all of you. Godspeed, Scarlett. You warmed our hearts.
  10. I was crushed when I read that Joe had received his final promotion. I will forever cherish my "Joe phones".
  11. I am very sorry for your loss. Godspeed, Dixie. You really earned your wings.
  12. "The look in Arrow's eyes will tell you all you need to know." This is so true. Concentrate on Arrow, spoil him rotten and go with your gut feeling about when he has had enough. You know him best and if you prepare yourself, talk to him about how you feel, tell him that you will fight for him if that's what he wants, but if he's ready to go, he has to let you know. JMHO So many have been down this road and I am so sorry you have joined us. I will keep you and Arrow in my prayers.
  13. We dipped our toes in the tripe pond this week; Saturday at dinner and today's breakfast. From the sound of the bowl banging around in the feeder stand while she tried to lick the shine off the bowl, I would say Fuzz loved Saturday's meal. This morning she was actually whining to get her food when she caught the first whiff after her morning walk. It's a hit!
  14. Sleeping in the bedroom would be #1 on my list. Oh, how I wish someone had explained that the bedroom becomes everyone's "den" at night! Would have saved me many, many hours of lost sleep while trying to get unhappy dogs to settle down and go back to sleep.
  15. I am so sorry! He was indeed a Good Dog. I remember the photo with one foot beyond the opening of the crate ..................................I remember thinking that he actually looked quite pleased with himself and didn't mind it you took a picture to prove it! Thank you for Graham's tribute. It's a fitting tribute for your Hansum Debbil.
  16. Lorinda is one of the strongest and most resilient people I know.

Characters............both of them. Your photos confirm how special they were. I hope your memories help heal your heart. Godspeed, Corbyn and Aleister.
  18. Please convey my condolences to his family. Tragic..............just tragic.
  19. Positive re-enforcement for both dog and owner is a must! Granted, the dogs are "perfect" and the humans need the training, but making a person feel invalidated shows complete lack of knowledge on how to be an instructor of any kind! Please start off your vacation time by finding another trainer; someone who will make you AND Ami feel good! Good luck!
  20. Welcome, Ami! Don't you worry, your Mom will be trained in no time! Oh, do you plan on doing some sun bathing?
  21. Most Vets don't have but rudimentary knowledge of animal nutrition which was most likely presented by one of the "big box" dog food companies, consequently they will defer to those big box food companies when it comes to any dx requiring food modification. There are various dx of "kidney disease" as well as various stages in the disease process. No one diet will fit all cases. If you are not inclined to read Monica Segal's book and figure it out yourself, she or Dr. Rebecca Remillard will formulate a custom diet for a fee. The University of TN also offers a similar service. I know Monica Segal does include raw in her recipes.
  22. He has a lot of good hounds waiting for him. Too many. Too soon. I am so sorry Batman had to go. Godspeed, big guy.
  23. It's just not fair. You didn't have nearly enough time together. Buddy, send your momma a kiss on the wind. She's gonna miss you something fierce! I am so sorry.
