  1. Does anybody know if MSM is harmful or OK for older houndies that have reduced kidney function? Aggie is 13 1/2 and has done wonderfully (as expected) on Fresh Factors. They contain yeast however which I understand is loaded with phosphorous. I was thinking of switching her to Springtime's Joint Health -basically the same chrodroitan/glucosamine etc.- that doesn't have yeast in it. However it does contain MSM and I don't know if that is safe for kidney dogs. Anybody know? Asking her vet is not an option as her vet don't know and doesn't want to be bothered finding out. Thanks. PS-She already gets Enalapril, Epakitin & Azodyl.

  8. Run free and fast sweet baby.
  9. The last vet charged nearly $100 and that was ONLY for the procedure- not anything else.
  10. I am so sorry! My deepest sympathy. By the way-that was not an "attempt" to get a picture of Tarmac and you. Look at the eyes of both of you! Don't you see the connection? I can actually see a cord or bridge or something- its there. That is a very special picture! Please don't have any negative feelings about when he crossed over. You were there and he was enveloped in your love and you helped him cross over as no one else could have. He knows that and is grateful. Regarding- ".....His little bat head will no longer be staring out at me from the back window when I come up the driveway. There will be no more games of fetch in the big fenced field, no more opportunities to see the look of sheer joy on his face when he runs. He will no longer be hovering by the counter when I chop veggies for dinner, staring at the growing pile and silently urging it to fall to the floor. We won’t hear the staccato of his nails on the side of our bed at night while he dreams. I won’t discover toys he stashed in my tote bag when I get to work in the morning. ..." please try to be open minded as you can. He may send you a sign to comfort you. When he does it will be unmistakeable because it will probably be something like the above. Don't try to understand how. Just enjoy it. You two will ALWAYS be a part of each other. I just wanted to share my experience, strength, and hope with you and send you a hug! “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” “What we have enjoyed we can never lose…All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”-Helen Keller
  11. Glad your eyes are feelin' some better! Welcome to the US! PS- Cara is a pretty name but you'll always be the Little White Monster to me!
  12. A beautiful and moving tribute. My deepest sympathy.
  13. I'm waiting on my Canyon World Tour tickets too! Has he smiled lately? Love his smiles! So happy that River is OK. You know my Goldie came in one day with a similar bump and the vet determined it was a snake bite. Lucky it was one where it didn't inject any significant venom and he got well quick. It did look like River's bump though and was in almost the exact same place. You have any snakes up there? Give them all hugs and kisses from their KY connection.
  14. I brought Ivy home on the 4th day. I don't think a 10 hour car trip would have bothered her. One of my favorite memories is that first night home. We always used to sleep together. That first night back from the hospital we went into the bedroom and I froze staring at the bed-oh no what do I do...my mind was racing. Dear Ivy knew it. She looked up at me then fast as lighting just like always effortlessly jumped into bed! I can't tell you how good that made me feel. I knew she would be OK then and in fact she was! It wasn't long before we were running together just like in the old days. In fact one day she was really wanting to go kind of fast and I couldn't keep up and she looked back at me and said "I've only got 3 legs and you still can't keep up!"
  15. I love Interceptor. I have used it for many years in many greyhounds and others and have found it to be safe and trustworthy.
  16. Poor ole lady-losing her home and tail at the same time! I'll be praying for her! Please give her a hug for me.
  17. Oh, my heart aches for you and your beloved houndies. I'll be praying for you all.
  18. My Aggie loves raw green tripe. You can order it and it arrives frozen. It is very good for them. She is 13 1/2 and going strong.
