  1. I agree with everybody! Ya'll said it so well. What I have found for me is that though there are differences, each dog is so uniquely special it is irrelevant whether the're a girl or boy- so I prefer BOTH.
  2. Yep. Get some Tuf-Foot (www.tuffoot.com) and spray or dab some on at night before he goes to bed. They'll toughen up pretty quick whether you use the tuf-foot or not but it will help speed it up a little and really toughens them up good. A few of my hounds' feet were a little tender at first also. I just pour it in a small ~2-3 oz make-up type spray bottle and then spray it on before bed. It will stain fabrics though so you may have to make adjustments for that.
  3. Words are quite simply inadequate.
  4. Yea Diamond! You go girl! So glad you're gettin well!
  5. Love and soft scritches to beautiful Diamond! Praying for her wounds to heal quicker. BEST of luck in prosecuting the sorry stupid irresponsible nutty quack woman and her stupid retarded uncontrollable aggressive dog to the fullest extent possible. I frankly would have no quams about having the illbred piece of trash euthanized. He obviously takes too much after his illbred owner. Love to Diamond!
  6. Slim is with me stiill -he is my soulmate from the spirit world-but oh how I miss him trying to bite me in this world! Thanks for posting this.
  7. Who loves ya Canyon??? (Don't forget you've got to let me know who you want in the Derby! I'm going to get you a ticket and if you don't tell me who you want I'll pick one for you! Maybe there will be one that ryhmes with Canyon or something. Ha!)
  8. That's what I was going to say too. We can't know everything. Perhaps he was an angel with another "mission" that you were not to participate in. But he does know you love and miss him, is most grateful for everything you did to help him, and he loves you too. I'm sure he wouldn't want you feeling guilty over something you really had no control over.
  9. GOOD MORNING CANYON!!!!!!!!!!! I see that you are roaching-beautifully, and knitting people! Therefore I know that the first post surgery smile that I've been bugging you about can't be far behind! Just don't forget that your KY connections are ANXIOUSLY awaiting that world class smile from their favorite smiler! You make my heart dance! Love ya! PS-Who do you think will win the Kentucky Derby? I will place a bet for you in celebration of your blessed recovery.
  10. Where might one procure a "good" laser pointer to use at home? I don't think we have any kind of laser therapy available anywhere here in the area so that'd be the next best thing I suppose... My holistic vet Dr. Boswell- who has a special gift for healing- said you can use the kind you get at an office supply store. I got the best one they had because I wanted it to be the strongest I could obtain. It was ~$30.00. Private people are not allowed to buy the ones as strong as the drs. use. Anyway it does work-especially good for muscle/orthopedic issues. You can also use it to stimulate the accupuncture points. Just shine it on the appropriate point for about a minute if that. When you shine the red laser light on the dogs you can actually see the "light" going deep inside underneath their skin. She initially had me use it for 20 minutes twice a day. You just paint the area with the red light continuously for around 20 minutes.
  11. You've got to make sure Louisville KY is on his tour! Only fitting that the ultimate greyhound visit the city of the ultimate horse race. Canyon, you'd LOVE Derby time here. It is a lot of fun and there is a lot of press coverage that we know would just swoon over you! Or maybe it could even be arranged to be here during the Greyhound Festival of the Bluegrass. You'd surely be the guest of honor. Have a great day Canyon- we love you! -Your KY fan club
  12. Oh Annie I'm so happy!!! I wanted to let you know that you can use the laser therapy at home too! My holistic vet years ago told me to get one of the (better) laser pointers and just run that back and forth and in circles concentrating over the area that needed it for 20 minutes at a time. Even though it was not as "strong" as the kind at her office it did actually help and she always encourages me to use it. She also does accupuncture which as you know is also highly effective. You can use it to stimulate the various accupuncture points also by shining it onto the various points! So you can give him a lot of the "good stuff" at home too. I'm just so happy. Give Canyon a kiss for me!
  13. Good Morning to that healthy handsome Canyon houndie!!! Love ya boy! That roach was GREAT! Now where's my first post surgery smile? I'll be waitin'! PTL
  14. I'm beside myself with happiness!! See:
  15. God is good -I sing and shout it! I continue to pray prayers of thanksgiving for Canyon's marvelous healing!
  16. Idiopathic Greyhound Bleeding syndrome(see the new Greyhound book for trainers/vets). Cash has it. Dr. Cuoto has worked on it. The really interesting thing is that it seems to be limited to a certain region of the country yet greyhounds are the only breed that get it? It is a whole separate syndrome/not DIC etc. It is listed in the new book as above.
  17. Canyon IS healed. I don't care what anybody or anything else tries to say. I have learned through hard experience not to believe appearances. That feeling is your knower-it knows and so does mine. PTL Hang in there Canyon-soon you will be romping in the grass putting all this stuff behind you. Love and kisses from your KY fan club!
  18. Slim used to experience intermittant lameness in his right front due to a neck injury. He would actually hold the leg off the ground-kind of pointing forward -carrying it kind of forward-did not let it hang down-and hop with it that way. Board certified vet was clueless about what was causing the lameness and couldn't help him. Holistic vet diagnosed him immediately and treated him with accupuncture. It got a lot better and it only occassionally flared up after that. He continued to get accupuncture every now and then just to keep it from flaring up again.
  19. How you doin' today you beautiful handsome special adored boy dog you?
