  2. I get mine here, I try to get the 12 inch Jumbos, but they don't always have them in stock. At $2.99 they're a bargain and my hounds LOVE them, they're so thick I don't worry when the get down to the ends. Try the lamb lung while you're shopping, so much more reasonable than the Baa Baa Q brand. http://www.bestbullysticks.com/
  3. You can get AquaCell Silver at a surgical supply store; it absorbs the goo, only needs to be changed every three days or so and has antibacterial silver embedded in it. Looks kind of like a piece of gray drier lint but it works! It's used on humans post amp all the time and should stay on if you cover it with a Kerlex fluff that you can change out as needed. Use normal saline to clean the wound, you don't want a wet wound, but you don't want to really dry it out either ... dry crusty won't heal, ever so slightly moist and pink is good.
  4. I'm so sory, I too was hoping that the vet was wrong. Love him, spoil him and give him ear skritches from me.
  5. What wonderful news! I hope he continues to do well at home ... hang in there Chris
  6. Just checking in , continued prayers for rapid healing and full recovery.
  7. Oh poor baby ... makes me hurt for him. I hope both he and you have a restful night and I'll be praying for you all.
  8. Continuing to send prayers and strength and lots of love.
  9. Oh poor Dude! Sending prayers and good thoughts for all of you and especially for Dude.
  10. Leslie I'm so sorry for your loss, what a beautiful tribute to a wonderful friend. I'm sure Gustopher already has his corner staked out and is watchin' his girls.

Jackie I'm so sorry for your loss. They always leave us before we're ready to see them go, but the joy and happiness they bring to our lives and love they leave behind when they leave is never lost or forgotten.
  12. Great news Chris, praying for continued improvement and hoping she';ll be going home soon.
  13. You can usually find turkey necks and chicken feet ... good for the hounds joints ... at Mexican and Asian markets. While you're there check out the other inexpensive organ meats, I don't feed entirely raw but I do follow up turkey necks with a bit of other or Gracie poops rocks!
  14. Thank goodness she seems to be OK, prayers continuing for a full and uneventful recovery. Whew, what a day you've had!
  15. OMG Chris! Prayers for Cashy and you too.
  16. Mine is the Pet Safe large, like the one above and is in a patio slide, it's got a 9 inch riser but my hounds have used my daughters regular doggie door with no real problems. Carl is a big boy at 93 pounds and he has no problems. They both trained easily, I stood outside with a chicken gizzard holding the flap out of the way ... they were pushing through it in two tries
  17. I believe Benazapril is one of the $4.00 drugs at Walmart.

  19. Hi and welcome from Southern California. Cute fur family you have there, looking forward to seeing more of you and meeting your new hound. GT is going to be a great help to you, there is always someone here who can answer questions and solve problems.
  20. Lucky you! Do you have a way to dehydrate? I know I buy dehydrated lamb lung pieces and the hounds love it! If you don't have the freezer space maybe a friend will help out.
  21. Gracie is the great gopher hunter in our family, she's gotten three that I know about over the years. The first I found outside in the hole she had dug, the second she hid under her bed ... thank goodness I found it the day she did it, and the last one I got away from her just after she did it. She has gotten a field mouse or two also.
  22. They are never here long enough for us, they always leave us way too soon, but they leave us with a heart full of love. I too will miss her terribly.
