Over 23 years of having greys, my 10 came from all over. Including 2 from Sanford Orlando. No hooks. Once again, I am so very sorry about Soji.

Another problem could have been hemangiosarcoma. I've lost 3 to that horrible disease. I'm so sorry you lost your beautiful Soji.

I'm sorry you joined this club. I went the amp route for two girls. A 9 year old, and 12 year old. I went this route because I don't believe there's a strong enough med to keep them pain free. Maybe comfortable, not painless. They were in pain for 2 weeks post op. Then they enjoyed life thoroughly as tripods. My 12 year old made it 6 months. The 9 year old, 14 months. Both succumbed to OS spreading to another bone. Their lungs remained clear to the end. But please remember, whatever choice you make is the right choice. You make it out of love for your girl.

I hate to say it, but it's so true. I look at pibbles and labs. They look so fat to me. And I'm sure they are actually overweight.

I did several years ago before the Eisenhower was the central place. I liked it very much. My friends prefer it over the Eisenhower.

Congratulations! And welcome to the wonderful cult, um, I mean world of greyhounds. You will find greyhound people are there for you. If you lose your dog, we'll come out of the woodwork to help you find him. If there are issues we'll give advice, some unsolicited. And when they leave for the Bridge, we will mourn and weep with you. What state are you in? There's probably a greyhound sitter near you. Or a large greyhound event. Or maybe just a walking group.

While lots of greyhounds may have murmurs, some do have heart disease. My Pearl had heart disease. Diagnosed at 5. Age 6 she developed uncontrolled hypertension. With regular check-ups with the cardiologist she lived to 12, when cancer took her. At least get a baseline. Grade 3 of 6 is actually a bit high, even for a greyhound.

Be still my beating heart! She's gorgeous. 6 of my 10 girls have been white and black. If you're anywhere near PA, Greyhounds in Gettysburg is the last weekend in April. 20th anniversary this year.

Healthy paws doesn't cover diagnostics? Are you sure? They covered all of Tanzi's tests. They don't cover the office visit. She had 2-3 sets of x-rays and a CT scan. All within 3 weeks. All covered.
