  1. My two really like the Olewo carrots and the beets. When I adopted a galgo in February he had really loose, large volume stools. The Olewo carrots helped somewhat, but what really firmed him up was a probiotic/digestive enzyme supplement. In just a few days, his stool volume decreased significantly and I could easily pick it up with a doody bag. I ordered this one from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/NATURVET-978047-Enzymes-Probiotics-8-Ounce/dp/B001F2GDJ4/ref=sr_1_9?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1431730704&sr=1-9 It helps balance gut bacteria and helps utilization so there is less waste. About two months later a friend adopt a greyhound straight from the adoption kennel and she was having large stools several times a day the consistency of pudding. I told her about this stuff and my friend was sceptical because she had previously tried probiotics alone with another dog without any significant change. I gave her enough to try it for about 5 days and she firmed right up.
  2. Such a beautiful, heartfelt tribute to your beloved Timmy. I'm so sorry he had to go.
  3. AAFCO Definition: Chicken by-product meal consists of the ground, rendered, clean parts of the carcass of slaughtered chicken, such as necks, feet, undeveloped eggs and intestines, exclusive of feathers, except in such amounts as might occur unavoidable in good processing practice. I don't know if they failed to list chicken on the ingredient list.
  4. What a relief! I hope the two of you have many more good days.
  5. My first galgo, Irys, did the same thing not long after I adopted her. She went back in the house and threw up the entire bird on the bedroom rug about 30 minutes later. Ugh! She caught a few more after that, but never ate another one.

  9. Hard to believe it's been three years.
  10. I adopted a new dog in February and he had large volume, loose, mushy stools and terrible gas. Fecal was negative so I put him on a digestive enzyme/probiotic by Naturvet. 1/4 teaspoon per cup of food. I could see a difference in 48 hours. Within a few weeks, stool volume was less than half, stool was firm and easy to pick up, and gas was gone. I ordered it from Amazon, but you might be able to find it locally. I know Pet Supermarket here has it in stock.
  11. I can just feel your pain. It's so hard to see their bodies wearing out. I've been through this many times and it's never any easier. Cherish every minute of a life well lived.
