Guest IrskasMom
My Morty had since Years Eye Problems . To be Excact his right Eye only . He was diagnosed with Mild Anterior Uvietis + Conjunctivitis .It started Monday he barely opened his right Eye and Tuesday to. Wednesday , I made a frantic Call to the Eye-Specialist in Annapolis for an Appt. Now,after pledding so soon as possible , we seen the Specialist yesterday Morning. He really had a severe flareup . I am still unable to phatom the Thought , that they gave him an Injection ( Shot ) in the Eyeball . Just the Thought make me shudder. He seems to be alright today and his Eye is more open and he does not seem to be in Pain or uncomfortable.

o_rooly
Glad to hear that he's feeling better today.. I can't imagine an injection in an eyeball, either but, if it's what he needed.. Quote every day a tiny adventure.
Remolacha
An injection in the eyeball gives me the shivers too, but if it helped, that's what counts. I hope he is feeling better soon!
Guest Ebony
Shots in the eyeball makes me cringe too. I hope it helps though and hes feeling better soon.

kudzu
Poor boy! Sorry he is having such problems. Wanted to say that my mother has had injections in her eye several times. My father was in the room the first time & almost passed out! Mom on the other hand said it was no big deal & didn't hurt. I cannot believe how something like that couldn't hurt but she claims it just a bit weird with an odd pressure but not pain. Hopefully it was the same for Morty. May he feel better very soon. 4My2Greys
are they doing a steroid deposit in the eye? my vet did mention this when we first started dealing w/ annie's pannus. but she responded to the ointments.i do have a human acquaintance who has retina problems and has been going thru a series of ...yup, i'm cringing! the eye ball is numbed, very very super fine needle.I thought I remembered reading about shots being given in the eye for pannus. Also that the eyeball itself is numbed prior to the steroid injection. I can't help but shudder though at just the thought. I'm so glad we have vets to do those things that must be done. Edit to add: Erika, how is Morty doing? Is his eye looking better? Edited September 20, 2013 by 4My2Greys
Guest IrskasMom
Thank you for asking Judy . His Eye is still red but he is not squinting or keeping his Eye closed. He shows normal Appetite and normal Behavior, like fiercly barking at the Cats next Door.
Guest Rhea
Actually, I believe the white of the eye itself doesn't have pain receptors. So if you numb the cornea with some sort of local analgesic, it should be painless. But yeah no, I couldn't handle it either, even knowing all that. I'd prolly freak out or something if I had to have one ahhhhhh.
