silverfish
Good to hear he's out of surgery and doing well! Fingers crossed his recovery is uneventful. I suppose he thought that was a good place to hide that darned boot! Silly dog. Houndtime
Here's hoping for a speedy and full recovery for Jimmy. And, a comforting hug for you. Fuzzy once threw up something months after he ate it. It was a piece of fabric that he tore from a stuffy. I tossed the stuffy out after he ripped it up, never realizing that he ingested some of the fabric. lovinggreysslp
Believe it or not, Jimmy is already home!!! He is a bit out of it from the pain meds but alert enough to try to help with removal of ham from the ham bone! I am proud of our other hounds who were very gentle when they were allowed to greet him one at a time. We have cans of I/D which he wanted to scarf down when I gave him a small amount with his tramadol. He looks and acts much better than I expected. We did get to see what he ate. It was not A dog boot. He apparently did not l like the concept of dog boots because he ate three canvas boots and one rubberized boot. Four boots!!!! Needless to say, the remaining 20 odd dog boots are now under lock and key. I keep our home as Jimmy proof as possible. I will just have to be extra careful when a hound needs to wear a boot (yard can be hard on hound feet). Thanks again for everyone's support and well wishes. krissn333
So happy to hear he's home to celebrate the new year with you! Just curious, how big is his incision? A pup from our group once ate a couple of tampons straight from the box and had a pretty bad obstruction. Her incision from her surgery was 3-4 inches long. Jimmy, no more boots for you, sir! lovinggreysslp
Kristen, the incision is four or five inches long. Figured out the hard way that I can not enter a door without a mad scramble from everyone including Jimmy. I had been gone for ten seconds. I had to sprint to him as he lost traction and went into the splits. I think I will just sit next to him for the next 48 hours.......
