The second anniversary of your passing will not go unnoticed, but I choose to celebrate your birthday by sharing memories of you. You were so full of joy, that I cannot let sad thoughts or memories of the tragedies that were a part of your life consume me. Daily I remember you, so in some ways your birthday will just be another of those days. But Thursday, your birthday, I'll light a candle. I'll sit for awhile and have myself a good cry. I'll take the photo album down from the mantle and remember each wonderful moment we had with you. I'll take the collar and leash (that NancyB sent you) from the hooks on the mantle where it hangs, and just for a moment, I'll close my eyes and remember you wearing it. I'll play with the dirty, torn up stuffed bull dog that was your favorite toy. I'll watch the two short videos we have of you. And I'll read all the Remembrance posts from GT that I printed out. George and I will spend some time reminiscing, I'm sure. But then I'll blow out the candle, wipe my tears and put your stuff back on the shelf.
