Guest Greyt_dog_lover
I hope that it is acceptable to post here about my cat. This weekend we had to send our 18 year old greyhound tester over the bridge. She had kidney failure that was managed for nearly 7 years, so she lived a long time on borrowed time. My wife lived on the west side of Chicago 18 years ago and one day when she was walking past an alley near her house she saw some kids throwing a kitten around. She yelled at them and got the kitten. She was so small and young her eyes were not even open. Another kid ran up to her and said "lady, there's another one over there in a bowl of water". So what did my wife do, she went and got that kitten as well. She bottle fed both kittens and raised them so lovingly. Two boyfriends later, I come along. We get married and I take the cats as my own. We have been together over 10 years and I love those kitties as much as anything, so when this past sunday came, it was time. Dexter (female) couldnt walk very well, the pain killers wer no longer effective (she was walking around the house crying, not eating), we knew at 5am Sunday it was time. We loaded her up, got her favorite food in the world, twinkies, and headed off to the vets. I held her close as the vet injected the sedative, then the "pink" stuff, and that was it, no more pain. I love you my sweet Dexter, go play, eat catnip, chase bugs. Wait for your brother, he will be along, hopefully later than sooner. I will never forget you. Love Dad
