Her saliva was very tacky, so I think we did the right thing for bringing her in. On some dogs the gums will tell you if they are dehydrated better than the "pinch the skin" method. I check Cody all the time (he has Diabetes Insipidus) and when he's dehydrated his gums are tacky/sticky and he has poor capillary refill.
