Guest SillyIzzysMom
I posted last week about my worries about my 8 year old boy, Shazamm. We've only had him a couple months but he has a persistent limp, so I took him to the vet to see what was what. X-rays, not definitive, next week he went in for a (much needed) dental and while under sedation more, better x-rays. . .the my vet looked at all these and sent some jpg photos of the film along to a vet in Dallas and both thought they saw cancer in Shazamm's sacrum. I was so upset. . .my poor, poor boy! I had them send films to Dr. Couto, but he said the emailed images weren't clear enough, so i had them fed-ex the actual films. I've been so upset all weekend, certain that with two vets saying cancer that I would get nothing but affirmation of the diagnoses from OSU. But today I get an email from Dr. C. saying that he saw no lesions on the pelvis! He and two radiologists just said gas in the colon--that's all, no cancer! So for now we're limiting exercise and keeping up with the novox and tramadol when needed. . .Dr. C. said there might be some spine fusion but it was hereditary (so I guess he's had it forever--didn't keep him from having 46 races?) and a ct scan might help shed some light on what's going on. I'm going to see about who/where does CT scans around here, but for now I'm just so relieved. I tell you I was walking around writing this boys obituary yesterday. It's like somebody lifted a 100 pound weight off of me. I just had to share the good news. Seems like this forum is always so full of bad news of another sick pup. . .I hope this make someone else smile (I know I am!!)
