I was inside cleaning paws (lots of rain here) and getting ready to let the two in. I heard a scream and went running outside. Tippy was limping so I got her inside to check her out. Her leg at the bottom was sort of hanging there We loaded her in the car and took her to the e-vet. Three hours and two x-rays later we took a very sedated Tippy home. She has a very bad break, actually several, in the bottom joint near the foot. One break actually goes through the joint. We are taking her to her vet in the morning to get it checked and get a referal to an orthopedic surgeon. My first thought was cancer. The vet said he felt it was a less than 5% chance that it is cancer. The x-ray looked normal. This is a bad break and he thinks the bones will need to be fused. Please keep out brave little girl in your thoughts. The vet tech said Tippy is a trooper. She said most dogs would have tried to bite her at least once during the ordeal, but not Tippy.
