Guest greytful4 Posted April 17, 2009 Share Posted April 17, 2009 I still haven't heard anything on the TBD panel as of today. I did speak with the vet specialist,uh what day is this....oh, on Thursday night and she said she was going to call them and find out what the hold up is. I did send Dr Cuoto an e-mail as suggested by a fellow GT'er and got an auto response back that he's out until 4/27 so I forwarded it to his staff....nothing as of yet. On a more promising note though, Kylie continues to improve little by little, she actually tried to engage her kitty,Theodore in play this morning..until mama stepped in and put a nix on that! She was better getting down the front steps and even pooped without her sling until the end, when she fell backwards..I got her just in the nick of time as it looked like a cow pile. She still has hind end weakness and is still wobbly,but I am hopeful at this point. My only concern is, once she's off the meds, will the symptoms start all over again? The vet wants me to increase her pred dosage from 5 to 10mg,but I haven't as of yet...I'm just not sure about that. Her doxy is at 300mg, the vet said she didn't agree with Dr. Stack's dosage increase given Ky's weight of 64..she felt she was at the proper dosage. I'm torn here..all I want is my baby girl dog back! Mouse continues to be in declining health..I was going to take her to the bridge yesterday,but I gave her some pain meds and she's a little better, not by much. I had to go to work yesterday as a co-worker called out so I couldn't follow thru. I know in my heart I have to help her soon. I have to work this week-end,but am off on Monday.Funny how one life turns around and another goes down... Guest greytful4 Posted April 19, 2009 Share Posted April 19, 2009 UPDATE *** Just wanted to let everyone know that Kylie's TBD test FINALLY came back and they were negative. She has responded well to her meds and I see improvement each day. This morning she actuallynwas able to poop without the help of her sling. She is still a little weak in the hind end and still a little stumbley but NOTHING like she was last week at this time! The vet wants to do another platelet count and we're hoping that the count has continued to go up. I finally have hope for a good outlook for my baby dog girl! Thank you so much EVERYONE,for your out pouring of prayers, concern and advice, you'll never know how much I appreciate it and what a rock of a blessing you all are to me during this difficult time.
